Inaugural Mazdateam Cycling Extravaganza

What bike?

Umm.... this.

It used to be a Haro Zippo... now it's just a death trap.

I was thinking the same thing
are there any rules about bringing bikes on the train?

Train sounds appealing, but my concern would be getting home afterwards... Metra keeps bad hours.

What about riding down town like we did that one time (or lake front)? and perhaps chilling at a outdoor food/drink patio afterwords? That way us northerners can caravan down on the metra and still get back up before the last train.(dunno)

Why not change the meets held north of downtown for the same?

******* drive down, or don't. I don't care who comes, and I'm not changing location last minute. Plenty of people (everyone) drive(s) on this board. I'm sure if transport is an issue, you can carpool with someone. If Ken is coming, talk to him -- the 5 will fit like 6 bikes in it.

I was just about to suggest this- if Ken is coming he has the Grand Marquis now... which is essentially stadium seating for 9 people... it could definitely fit the bikes.

ok. if the grandest of ye old wagons goes and I could hop in id do it Ken style. if not, I think I will drive down to palos and do a couple hours of pre riding and then drive a little more down to Phil's and do the ride and food but then I gots to split.

Ken, if you have a hitch on that thing I got a bike rack we could use.

Phil, I think you need to move to a house closer to Lake County to accomodate us by Sunday. How dare you ask us to DRIVE ALL THE WAY down there. Pffft.......

What time yo u planning on hitting up Palos? I was going to go today after work but got rained out.

If I make the Philxtravaganza, I'll have to bail about 6.

last time I was there for about two hours. I think you still have my number. If so just give me a call I can ride back to the car. I park at bullfrog lake or the first parking lot on your right as you turn into the park off of 95th. most of us will be single speeds. just talked to a friend that went there last weekend and he said it was dry as a bone.

but

if Ken goes then.....(drunk)(drunk)

News: Palos wet again. Most people have only been able to squeeze in one ride there so far this year.

You could always do a muddy ride over at Swallow, since those Cambr bastards don't have any say-so there. As a sidenote, the Cambr president is my neighbor. He's a cool guy.

Yeah; it was a Cambr meet I was going to the other night. "Balls" is the guy's forum name on the Cambr forums....he's from Orland; I assume the same.

It's good not to ride the wet trails though; wet mud is like sandpaper on cogs and chains....

That's my neighbor, Chris.

Ok, peoples -- T minus one day, and the weather is supposed to be super nice out. Heading up to the shop for a while to sell Bryan a frameset and put my Dura-Ace cog/lockring on. If anyone needs parts/tubes/whatever, call or text me before 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Pat, text me your phone number: 773 316 1447

Not sure with all the rains if Palos would be good for riding but always good to check the Cambr page for status http://cambr.org/SMF/index.php?topic=2018.0
