I read through the long thread and there is a bunch of stuff going on in there. I'm not sure what I have already as I'm the second owner. Here is a description.

2006 Speed 6.
iPod jack in glovebox, works from the steering wheel. 1st owner said it was a factory option.
No disc changer, unless it's right there on the head unit. I confess I never looked. WTF is a CD?
No nav

I saw about the switch box, but later in the thread it says it doesn't work for us. I want to have sirius in the car. I have an external GPS already so that's not an issue, and I don't have or want a disc changer. I'd like to be able to work it from the wheel but it's not a necessity.

What do I need?

Sounds like you're gonna have to take the stereo out and find out what's back there. If you want Sirius, you're looking at picking up the OEM Sirius kit, which isn't cheap.

Your solution will not be cheap. You will need to get the OEM sat unit andeither install it yourself or pay to have it installed. Install is not hard the instructions that come with the mounting kit are very through its just time consuming.
As for the Ipod adaptor you will need to go with something like the AUXmod. or one of the like units......

You dont need to go factory sirius. You can get one of their off the shelf car kit models. Its a small display, and works thru an FM modulator. Some may complain that the quality of the modulator sux, but I've been using that option in several cars for approx 4 years now w/o an problems.
Then you just need to do a clever/custom mounting solution for the display. Will be cheaper than the factory unit, and allows you to keep the ipod connection.

I thought this wasn't an option on the Speed 6. I've done this to other cars with no problem.

Why wouldn't it be? Those kits are universal, and will work with any car that has FM radio. I'm using a small XM unit right now, mounted on a custom bracket to the right of the HU.

Can you take a pic of your set up?
I thought it was fishy that I couldn't use an FM modulater.

Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic, but you should get the idea.
