Wow dude. I would very much like to see u do this.
Just a note. If this thread spawns into a big exchange of stories about street racing, or if it spawns into one huge argument in general (which would prolly happen if some of the MS3 owners came in here and started running their mouths) .. then the thread will be closed.
Nicely discussed so far though, guys. Please continue!![]()

Key word here guys is "stock". I have no delusions of being faster than a modified MS3, especially with the way they take to modifications. From a dig was at an 1/8th mile track, from a roll, well I can't talk about that here... Call it bad driving or whatever (I suck at launching as well) but I had the MS3 beat the whole way.me too....
the power curve and more so the gear ratios in the MS3 KILL it in a quater mile... modified ms3 are shifting into 5th in a quarter mile.. WTF...
thats one GOOD thing about the next gen coming out is that they changed the gear ratio...
completely agree with you on that one the gears on the ms3's are way to short they should have copied dodge with the srt-4 neon they have taller gears and works much better with cars that have lots of torque

Lets see.....
MSP = 8000$ you can get a good one for
MS3 = 20,000ish
If you got both STOCK, then lets see..... 20,000 minus 8,000.... is 12,000. Yeah... 12,000 Can build the FU** out of a MSP (motor wise)So if you spend 3,000 in mods on the MS3, thats even 3,000$ MORE on the MSP! Ill take the MSP

How come I never see these types of threads in the MS3 section? This is the second of its kind in a week. What handles better, who is faster.... Torque gets you down the strip. HP gives you top end.
Weight, weight, weight. 300-400 lbs is a huge difference! Not to mention what has already been said: gearing, boost-limiting, fall-off in power above 5500 RPM, etc. Not that it matters, I'm trying to sell my P5 anyway...I am not saying that it is impossible I just don't think it is likely. The reason is this. I don't see how a 215-220whp P5 is going to beat a 240whp MS3. I am in complete agreement with your earlier argument that a 200hp p5 will beat a 200hp ms3 or a 250 vs 250 or a 300 vs 300 and so on....What I don't see happening is a higer hp/tq ms3 losing to a lower hp/tq p5. I think in your case, you had a drive of an MS3 that hadnt figured out where/when to shift or drive the ms3 properly.
