Put it a new set of HID Fogs...

Pics were taken at around 10:00PM last night so there was still some light out from the setting sun, but it was pretty much dark out. I had an HID bulb fail on me so I received a new set under warranty and decided to take some pics.

Very nice, what package did you buy? 35w?

I am looking at a 35w kit from DDM to do the same thing.

Holy Moses those are bright. Me likey. I want to go cheap and just get an ebay kit with 3000K yellow bulbs. But I have heard the fogs need a 35W kit and will not support the 55w kit. Hopefully that isn't the case

Hey did you also remove the inner rings inside for it to get so bright?

Most kits on Ebay are 35W kits. I'm sure you can use the 55W kits in the fogs with a separate power harness.

I did remove the inner rings. Was a PITA but made a huge difference in lighting up the shoulders on dark highways.

55w for fog light is not recommended because the fog light compartment is smaller than the headlamps because of that it adds too much heat in such a small space and it is not good for your bulb.

Element: didn't you read 55w for fog light is not recommended in DDM page?

I am using 35W fogs, and no I didn't read the DDM page because I didn't order from them.

OEM HID low beams? so that means your ms3 is a GT?

i thought that how-to on independent fogs said it couldn't be done on the GT. damn, now i gotta check that s*** again

unthreadjack----> like your fogs man!!! would like to do this myself one day

Yup I do have a GT and the independent fogs are very easy to do. I use the jumper wire method and it is easily removed for dealership visits, and leaves no evidence behind.

this mod makes the fogs turn on by itself, right? (shrug)

Depends how you wire them up. Basically I turn my fogs on or off whenever I want without needing the headlights on. It's great on dark highways because I can have highbeams, lowbeams, and now fogs on all at the same time.
