aem cai dyno

well its fwd so not as much drivetrain loss, and 2 our ecu's react differently, and 3 the intakes are not designed the same for both cars.

so you dont think that our cars get that much of a hp gain then? i mean i would of believed that since there pretty much the same engine set up that we would be getting the same results...or something even close within a few hp..

Depends on how the car reacts it should look something like this:

FWD: 10-15% drivetrain loss
RWD: 20% Drivetrain loss
AWD: 30-40% drivetrain loss

there is no way a mazdaspeed 6 looses 30-40% sorry..i could swear that the speed 6 has dyno results of around 220 whp stock which is exactly 20% of the 274 crank horsepower

and its almost got to be the same horsepower gain with the cai or within at most 5 horsepower...i cant see the speed 3 gaining any more then that over our cars sorry

You need to re-read dude.

I stated AWD meaning car's that are AWD, Not just the Mazdaspeed6

A Stock STi has 300 crank HP and I've seen dyno's from 220-230AWHP
(AWD) car
A Stock SRT-4 has 250 crank HP and I've seen dyno's from 225-235WHP
(FWD) car
A stock Evo 8 has 271 crank HP and I've seen Dyno's from 215-225AWHP
(AWD) car

Depends on how the car reacts it should look something like this:

FWD: 10-15% drivetrain loss
RWD: 20% Drivetrain loss
AWD: 30-40% drivetrain loss

30-40%......really?

30% off the ms6's 274 is 82.2hp. thats 191.8whp. based on stock dyno pulls i've seen on forums thats way off.

typical stock is 229 whp. thats a 16.5% drivetrain/parasitic drag losses. again based on dyno sheets posted on forums. i've never personally dyno'd my 6 stock.

Why do you think FWD and RWD car's are faster from a roll. More weight is being used when your AWD.

A AWD car will put down less HP stock than a FWD or RWD car

my guess would be power to weight ratio. awd's are heavier. and prolly do suffer more drivetrain loss. but not that much.

no its more like 20%
274 is stock hp on the 2007 mazdaspeed 6
x .20
---------
54.8 and subtract that from 274 = 219.2 hp to the wheel...no where close to 30-40% for our cars

sorry i dont mean to argue the fact but there is no way our cars are below 220 whp

Lets just say for example:

I weigh 1600lbs in a little CRX with 250ish WHP

1600 divide by 250=6.4lbs per ratio

A stock MS6 has around 335AWHP

3589 Divide by 335AWHP=10.71lbs per ratio

Power to weight ratio only matters running from a roll at any speed. My money would be on the CRX from a 20-40-60MPH roll.

Now when were comparing about dyno

A CRX has 250WHP it will have around 275-280 Crank HP

As far as the MS6 it will have around 380-385 Crank HP

This is just the way it is, FWD car's put out more WHP
