What Have You Done To Your House Today?

The carpet goes in the rec room tomorrow, and I'm quite proud to say the room is ready for it!!! :D

Paint is done, the closet is drywalled and painted, the touch-up is done, the room is clear and the floor is even swept. Unfortunately, I still have a little bit of insulation and a bunch of drywall to hang in the back room, but I should be able to mostly contain that mess to that room. The carpet is only going in the rec room, the back room will be tiled (eventually).

Tuesday the PODS arrive, Wednesday the movers come empty them, and Thursday the PODS go away. I'm going to to my best to get the rest of the bedrooms and living space finished up in the next two days!

We're so close!

started on a few projects over the weekend.

couple pics of my brother and I taking down 2 20-30 palm trees over the weekend ftw!

the first pic was the sorter one right after it came down, it was a b**** cuz it was leaning towards the pool enclosure but we got it down without incident.

the third pic was the tall tree it was at least 30 feet tall. we brough that b**** down perfectly and it fell right between the pool enclosure and the fence like putting a thread through a needle. shook the whole ground too.... good stuff.

also redid the front planters w/ red cypres mulch and a bunch of new plants (got rid of all the lava rocks santos :p) and alos got a bunch of supplies to finish the back yard around the deck for now till we move further with the yard. we'll get some pics up of the finished product and all the other stuff soon.

What was wrong with the palms? Also how deep you need to go with support beams in FL? And I hate colored mulch. You need to go with a dark brown dude, it makes your plants pop in the landscape. Painted mulch fades in times and I don't like the texture of cypres mulch. Beats lava rocks though, lol.

I'll be snapping some pics of the flooring at my parents house. Looks awesome. And I will start doing some painting this weekend in the townhome. No more white. Currently I am recruiting painters because I hate painting.

support beams were only burried 2 feet since its a ground level deck. and the red mulch looks really good so :p

the palms were a pain in the ass. they were in the direct path of the sun to the pool and blocked out the sunlight for a majority of the day. we've wanted to take them down for some time so we finally did it.

Just read your post. Look forward to seeing the finished pics.

Edit. Cool. Download them when you guys get a chance.

next thing we need to do this year is grass in the front yard. we're tired of the dirt and sparce patches of grass....gonna rent the big boy till from Home depot at some point and tear up the ground and get some sod down.

We rescheduled the movers to Today, and got the rest of the rooms painted in the extra two days. We've spent the last two nights in the new house, sleeping on air mattresses. Our Pods arrived yesterday, and the movers should be here any time now to bring in our stuff! Tonight, I'll sleep in my own king-sized Tempurpedic bed for the first time in 11 months or so.

I can't wait!

There are still projects to be completed, such as painting all the hallways, the stairways, interior doors, the kitchen and the bathrooms, but all the rooms getting furniture are done. We also still need to insulate, drywall, mud and paint the back room downstairs, and put down some kind of flooring in there, but that's pretty low on the list. The living areas are ready.

I also scored approximately 30X50 feet of free sod, which I will likely be going to pick up and put in our yard tomorrow. The grass is pretty bad here, so I'll use it to fill in the muddy areas.

We almost live here! :D

^^^ Good stuff.

Well our first floor is just about ready for paint. Going to take some pics and still going to take some pics of my parents place. Just to give people ideas if they ever want to install bamboo flooring. I really do hate painting.

Not to mention the trees were so high you couldn't reach the dead fronds to clean them up. They just looked ratty and gross.
