Motherfucker. That sucks man. Sorry to hear about your engine. I know you were really excited about getting it up and running.

I was man...after waiting so long and getting all my help to come down, we though it would be no problem...then when we finally got it Saturday and went to crank it up it was getting dark...checked the usual things and all...we weren't able to tell about the coolant in the head until the local guy came today, popped off the VC to check the timing and immediately noticed it...upon further investigation it was full of coolant/oil...I really just thought that my wait was over, but now more money goes into it as well as buying more meals/gas for those that come down to help...especially when some are driving 3 hours to get here...and then we have to get another weekend that they can come down...

Well...I guess the wait continues...

that totally sucks scratch

hope your car...

the does suck pretty hard dude. but, since you were timing it, you should have just replaced the head gasket regardless, just because you had to re-time it and s***.. it would have taken an extra what... 30 mins, and cost you an extra 100.00 if that!
sorry to hear that though.

sorry to hear that though.

We would of put in a new headgasket/studs, but it was the fact that the guy who sold it to me said that it didn't have any problems whatsoever and was good to go...my biggest thing is how do you not know that you have a bad headgasket when you sell a motor...I even bought the items for the headgasket, but figured if it wasn't broke then why fix it...at least I already have them at the house though...now it is just a matter of getting help putting them in...

Any turbo guys on that know a bunch about boost comparisons? Kind of like how much boost on a t25 is equivalent to 6psi on t28. Just an example question but if anyone is good with that kinda stuff, PM me so I don't treadjack please. I have a couple questions. Or AIM me at fishdonotbounce. Thanks!

Yea who is it? That sucks man. Not just the head gasket but who knows if there is other damage with it. Make sure that head/block are looked at closely (machine shop) when you swap the gasket.

Alright so update on the turbo stuff. So far, boost, oil pressure and wideband gauges have been bought. I have an FF gauge bezel coming with two of those on which I will have to fix a crack with some bondo. No biggie. The other two I'm hoping to place in the double gauge bezel that I'm gonna try to fabricate with some PVC piping, bondo and my gauge surround. I already ordered a new gauge surround from Ken in case I mess something up. I really wanna keep the stealthy look so I'm trying to shy away from using the pillar pods.

I also purchased an RRFPR that looks exactly like the begi one, a boost controller, FM o2 voltage clamp, and the oil filter adaptor plate.

I decided to go with a whole new IC setup and for this I will be buying an Altered Customs IC kit with a 2" inlet/outlet IC and 2.25" piping all the way around. I've been on the phone with Jen a few times now and she's been really great about helping me figure out exactly what pipes we're gonna need, what reducers we need etc etc. The setup is going to be my early bday present so I'm pretty happy about that.

All that's left now is a couple of gaskets, a flange, a fuel pressure gauge, transmission cooler, and a BOV with a 2.25" pipe and flange which I will probably buy on ebay. Everything is coming together really nicely and I can't wait to have her boosted. In the mean time, I will probably polish the turbo and completely heat wrap the manifold and s-pipe as well as the downpipe once it is fabricated. Yay for being boosted soon!

^^^Cool to hear man...I am so afraid that I will have problems with mine if I were to turbo that it has got me so anti-turbo...lol...

Haha yea man I gotta make sure not to get boost happy or any dumb s*** like that especially since I have the auto. I think 6-7 psi and no more will be what it will stay at. It's something I've been reading about and learning about for the last 2 and a half - three years and I still have many questions being answered every day. I definitely am making sure I do everything right and don't cut any corners or I will find myself going zoom zoom boom very quickly.

dang it, borrowed that photo... hmmm

here we go, but now it looks like it is working again on the previous page
