I just found out that a very good of my family, Dave who was 62 years old was hit yesterday on his bicycle wearing his helmet by a car (details still unknown to us). He was paralized from the neck down and had intensive internal injuries that could not be fixed. I just found that he died about 1 hour ago. Its sad that you or a loved one can be taken away in a blink of a eye. I justed to say this guy was a great guy and was a real helper in the community. Just be careful when driving because it only takes a split second and it could change someones or others lives forever.

Terrible news. I hate hearing about this sort of thing, being a cyclist myself. I've had my fair share of close calls with cars...and people laugh when were out there wearing neon bright colored lycra. . .

My condolences for your loss.

Thanks alot....I always give people on bikes the right of way.

Very sorry to hear .. My sister's been hit more than a few times cycling to and from work, though thankfully, she rides in a 25mph zone and has never been seriously hurt.

The last time she was hit, it was by a young kid in a Mustang, who had a girl in the car with him -- he ran a stop sign, in the process of showing off, and hit my sister. But she picked herself right up off the pavement, limped over to his door, yanked it open, and dragged the driver out of the car to start screaming at him while shaking him.

It's too bad your friend couldn't have done the same! :(

Thank you...Im glad she was ok.....its beginning too be real hard typing because its really setting in. 1st the divorce then a good friend being killed.

I have too say all you guys are being very supportive...thanks from all my heart.

God Bless

Sorry to hear of your loss. I hope and pray that you, his family and friends cherish his memory and find strength and hope. I lost a good friend not long ago in a stupid work accident. One day he was there then the next we were at his funeral saying goodbye. All because some fool was stupid and took from us someone irreplaceable. I still have times where I say to myself this is a moment that he would appreciate, or this would be a good time to have him with us. Still though, he was a good man, just like your friend must have been for what you have said of him and how you feel. God bless and may your friend rest in peace.

Oh I'm real sorry to hear about that man. I know what it's like to lose a close loved one. Just remember the positive and think of what more good they would want you to achieve in your life.

Sorry to hear that. Just remember the happy times and good stories and keep those alive with the others who loved him. s*** always seems to happen in bunches like this. It will get better, just remember that! Be positive, keep busy with a hobby and keep a positive outlook. Negative thoughts and dwelling on the past will kill you slowly. I'm glad that we are all a resource for you in these times.
