Thank you. There are more than cosmetic changes...there are new options etc but like I said earlier the most you could call it is a minor evolution...in no way a complete redesign.

So far what we have learned about the 2010 Mazda 3 is as follows:

- same platform
- same suspension
- same brakes
- minor cosmetic changes
- same motor OR a slightly larger evolution of the NA 2.3

What can you surmise about the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 from this? That it will

- be on the same platform?
- have the same brakes?
- have the same suspension?
- it has minor cosmetic changes?
- we already know it has the same motor and tranny?

It's hardly a complete redesign.

Just for looks, I hate the new grill and hood scoop. I am not a fan of the new headlights and taillights, but I could learn to live with them. The back, on the otherhand, I love. Something about a subtle change in line, plus I drool for dual exhaust. Ah, symmetry

If I had to rate the 2010 ms3 between gay and gay, id rate it "flaming lame-wack-dumb-hideous-waste of production time. Not worthy of being a mazdaspeed." they seriously should be releasing a MSmx5 or MS6...better yet a MSrx8.

The ms3 looks too lame to be released and there are no performance improvements-what's the point of this car.
"Woosaa!!!" Ha. Sorry, had to vent a bit ha
What are you homophobic or what? What does gay haave to do with it? (flame2) I thought the question was re: the new MS3? Personally, if your ready to buy now just get an 09'. If you want to wait it out, I think the "face lift" looks pretty good. Granted it looks like the power will be close to what we already have. I'll wait to make up my mind until this hits the market...

Or get an Evolution...for the revolution. hehehe (I mean like a Mitsu Evo btw...)

Naw I'd get the last known MS3 out there (to your specs) before the 2010 comes out.

After some personal experiences, I would never touch a Mazda again but that's just me. Still nice cars, I'll just go with something that isn't total s*** in its drivetrain.

No problems with my drivetrain here! lol

I picked the 1st gen ( if you will ) because I am biased to my baby lol. But the 2nd gen. ( again, if you will ) is starting to grow on me. I got a chance to see a 2010 MZ3 sedan up close in person and I will say that the pictures dont do it any justice, it is a NICE looking car and dont be suprised if you find yourselves very tempted to try and get one. Or at least come in here and drool over the ones eveeryone else is getting. However with that being said, will I trade mine in on a new one..................................................................................only time will tell. LOL

I'd go second gen MS3 (in black to hide the smile. Hopefully, they would have fixed some of the little niggles that plagued first gen cars (bad turbo seals, rattles, weak rear motor mounts etc).

Plus, I like the hood scoop.

I would wait for the 2010. If you dont like it, you can always get an 09. Lots of WRX owners wish they had waited. Lots of STI owners with they had waited!! Ha-Ha.

The new 3 is so ugly, i'm sorry but what the hell. I vote neither because its going to essentially be the same car.

"No problems with my drivetrain here! lol" +2 (burnout)
you don't count, I have a n/a 3 with the autohell. It really is one helluva terrible transmission and ssssslllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww engine with terrible gas mileage after 8 months.

Well you're just lucky. You got a speed? Or an autotragic?
I would never trade mine in, not even for another Mazda. I'd just sell it and cut my losses to get something else.

Which would you buy if either was available, same price, same options, colors, etc.

1. 2007-2009 Speed 3
2. 2010 Version based on spy/concept photos

2010. I think the updates to the interior alone make it a nice evolution of the current and somewhat dated design.

I love mine, don't get me wrong, but the 2010's have a nice look that is essentially what I have now, only with I think nicer wheels, rear and interior. I don't love the front end, but hey, I don't ever look at it so I really don't care.

Exactly! stupid autotragic 4 banger....murmur murmur...grump grump...
You are the most loudly obnoxious complainer 'round these parts who bitches about a car you had completely unrealistic expectations for, and I have to admit that I am kind of tired hearing you inject your terribly tragic situation of owning a new warrantied car into every conversation.

You researched it, you test drove it, you picked it, you signed on the dotted line, you knew what you were getting. Suck it up and move on, crybaby.

:D thank you for the inspiration. I'm meeting the district customer service manager form Mazda NA operations on March 11.
But loudly obnoxious is wht I do best!(2thumbs)

When you tell them: "I wanted it to have 400 HP V8 and be able to tow a boat like my SUV, and I wanted the automatic to be a twin-clutch dual shaft paddle shifted unit like on the EVO, and I'm really upset than I'm not getting 40 mpg city like in a Prius!@#" let me know how it goes over for ya.

"I researched this car for 9 months before buying it and was SHOCKED AND APPALLED when I finally got home and realized it was just a pretty good small car, like everyone had told me!@#" may also be good for a laugh.

See, I make people pay attention. :D
I was expecting it to have pep and be able to pull around 4 people nicely in it, to have a nice smooth transmission like it should have, and get 23 city like it did when I bought it.
I wasn't expecting congested fatass with slipping transmission and 16MPG city. That is not what it's rated for and that's not what I bought it for. It pisses me off that the dealer thinks it's fine and noody on here believes that my car could have any sort of issues like that when it's 8 months old and don't offer any sort of explanations or reasons why it could be like this.

Lets say my transmission is fine. I'm still getting 16 city on the average...now how would one explain that?

It has pep for its class, hauls people around fine although weight affects it more than say, something with 400 HP.

I couldn't say why you get 16 mpg, I don't know how you load your vehicle regularly, how you drive it, what sort of conditions you generally drive it in, or any mechanical problems it may have, etc.

If you have legitimate problems with your transmission, or something else, I hope they get fixed. I hope the Mazda rep takes you seriously and looks into your problems enough to get them fixed so your car can go back to being the fairly affordable, fairly refined, good on fuel, peppy for its class car that it is.
