just curious... whats your next car?

do'h lol reading comprehension=fail (dark)

Yeah he said it right, before I bought the MS3, I was trying to hold off to see how the Genesis Coupe was going to be. Buttttttt I couldn't wait. So we will see how it is after the Speed is paid for or atleast have some money to put down on one.

That is if I want to get rid of the speed by then.

I was thinking about waiting for it to, but decided I didnt want a coupe, and it would probably be more expensive. Did you guys see the commercial for it during the superbowl http://www.motorauthority.com/hyundai-to-debut-2010-genesis-coupe-in-super-bowl-ad.html

Yes but if you've ever driven an 05 and up S2000 (2.2 liter motor) you most likely wouldn't be disappointed unless you can't fit in one right (Designed for a small to avg size person) The car is a riot to drive, gets pretty good mpg, built from the ground up as a convertible, Honda reliability, Hand built motor with forged internals, light weight, 50/50 weight distribution, awesome ergonomics, 8200 redline, etc. It's not as fast in a straight line (5.3 zero to sixty / 13.9 - 14.1@around 99-103 mph in the 1/4) but the handling is excellent and so is the fun to drive factor.

s2000 are fun in fact i test dove a Suzuka blue S2k right before i bought my MS3. its a great car handles amazingly, but you have to rev the piss out of it to go anywhere. i would much rather drive a torquey car on the street than a torqueless wonder like the S2k. on a track who cares if you have no low end power you never use it, but in the street thats all you use. i used to own a 194whp all motor gsr powered civic and it would was fun but taking it up past 6k to get power is noisy and gets annoying fast(although shifting at 9500 is fun). for a street car id take a 370z, for track s2k

Edmunds has the Genesis coupe with the 3.8 V6 weighing in at 3569 lbs! It has 300hp/266ft-lb's, I don't think it will do much more than mid 14's. It does look cool though

I agree to a certain extent but last time I drove a 07 S2k the power felt pretty good across the entire rev range with a jolt of accleration just below 6k until 8300k. Granted it's not the torque monster the MS3 is the power in the lower end is sufficent for daily driving IMO. You also have to keep in mind that the S2k isn't a heavy car and doesnt require as much tq.

i'm actually gettin bit by the "lookin for a new car" bug.... well, i'm actually looking at getting a project/sunday driver. i've scoped it out and told my fiance that if it's still available after our wedding in June, i'll be purchasing a 1963 chevy impala. it's in very good condition at a car lot. i wish i could get it now so i don't miss out on it....but don't think that would fly with the misses

rotary spridget ('67 sprite) if i can ever get all the house projects finished......

that one is gonna take a while, though. gonna be a cool car... the body is perfect.. 160-170hp rotary is gonna make this thing a rocket!

I just saw this on Inside Line:

Technology Can Bite
Time has been kind to our long-term Evo, because even with 6,000 miles on the clock, it's quicker than when we first tested it in July. It now tackles 60 mph in 5.4 seconds (5.1 seconds with 1 foot of rollout like on a drag strip) and runs the quarter-mile in 13.8 seconds at 99.7 mph. These results better its earlier performance by a few tenths, suggesting perhaps that its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine benefits from a few thousand miles of hard driving.

I thought the Evo, or the previous Evo did like a 13.4 1/4 mile? I don't see how this car is faster than the MS3.

That's the MR they tested which is a lot slower than the EVO GSR which runs 4.9 0-60 & 13.6@100 1/4. The new EVO isn't that fast but the after market is already booming with performance upgrades for it. The only place a MS3 will take a new EVO is from a rolling start as it puts more power to the wheels and is a lot lighter. The previous EVO is about dead even from a roll with a MS3. I known because I have a friend that has one. But is way faster in the 1/4@ 13.3

so i'm gonna test drive a 370z tomorrow, hope i don't like it :) hehe
after reading all the reviews coming in now, i see no point in the s2k anymore, if i pass on the Z, i may just pick up a used miata and make that my toy and keep the ms3.

I'd most likely go with the S2000, I know it's not quite as quick but it's so much fun to drive and I like being able to put the top down and the high revving motor, wicked good shifter, etc. Oh and I fit in one like it was custum built for my body.

i've test driven an ap1 and ap2, and i prefer the ap1 by far, it's just more raw.
but at the price point of 33k msrp for the 370z w/sport package
and 34k for an s2k, it's just not worth it to me.
the s2k hasn't changed in the engine dept for 9 years.
plus nothing sounds like a well tuned 6. unless i really
wanted a convertible that bad the 370Z > s2k imo right now.
the s2k > 350z by far tho heh

I thought you liked torque? The ap2 is much better in this regard (not taking just about peak but throughout the entire rev range it feels stronger) and I've driven both as well. Plus the S2k has proven to be pretty much bullet proof reliability wise, I'm happy with the motor and changes aren't needed IMO. And I happen to love the sound of the S2k once the rpms start to climb so smoothly and effortlessly to 8200rpms. To each their own, you like the Z I like the S2k more

i know the ap2 is faster, but the ap1 "felt" faster. the ap2 almost felt like an acura in comparison, softer suspension etc..
don't get me wrong, the s2k is a great car, hell i was considering one up until a week ago but i doubt they will be making any deals as the 09 is the last year of the s2k, i would want an 09. i'm just saying for ~30k i'd rather have the new Z at this point. the flip side is, if i don't get a convertible, i might as well just keep my ms3 and save the 15-20k buying a Z would add to my loan heh.

My next car would be the new 2010 speed3 it so sexy and it finally has a hood scoop (which i love about)

but i still love my speed 3 it one of the best car i driven so far and would not trade it for anything in the world except a nissan gt-r
