Cold Weather Squeak Video

Well here is a video of the squeaking experienced by some in cold weather. As you can hear the squeaks are not minor. Pardon the quality of the video it was taken with my iPhone.

EDIT - Speed varies from 0-60km/h which is the LEGAL limit.

Definately sounds like suspension bushings, I wouldn't worry about it. It will clear up once it gets warm again. BTW our cars are not for RALLY, dude your going through the roads like it's a sunny day.

I was doing a MAX of 60km/h. Video is bouncy because I'm trying to hold the phone up. A little snow on the ground doesnt mean I have to do 20km/h. Besides I am keeping up with traffic and only catching up when they stop for a light...

I know our cars aren't for rally. Thats what the STi in the garage is for. Speaking of the STi it makes no noise in the winter. However it is also more expensive.

yeah i get that in my car aswell in the winter. Only over speed bumps though, not when i am just driving.

I've never heard it happen in any other vehicle ever. My MS3 is the first I've seen to exhibit such a problem.

I've never had it NOT happen...just comes with the territory when you have hard plastics and rubber getting cold. Things just make more squeeks because they don't flex as much.

its kinda funny that those squeaks bother you yet that radar detector (or gps, sounds like the voice says Kband) is annoying as s***.


btw, the msp has some horrible squeaks as well.

Most likely the swaybar bushings.

You mean the radar detector that only goes off near Police and ONLY near police running radar? I'd take that noise over a bad sounding squeak that happens everytime I drive for the entire drive.

I have an appointment with the dealer after sending them the video and they want to replace the bushings on all 4 corners as well as the struts.
