so,i ran through a puddle with a ms cai.
not really a puddle but six inches of standing water
with a twelve inch pothole.
not a nice situation.

You'll be alright, did you mess up your rim? I've already drove through some deep water and my cai hasn't sucked up any water

it's okay now.
but the dealer had to replace the connecting rods.
it bent two of them.
the service rep said a lot of water was inside the motor.
i am getting rid of my cai as soon as i can.
no sense to the design for me living in miami.
not bashing the ms cai,i love the sound and performance,
just not the proximity to the ground.

yeah, you could not see the pothole underneath
the standing water.
the car nosedived water splashed on the hood.
sputtered and died.
had to call triple A to tow it to the dealer.
lucky for me allstate covered the repair.
the claim rep told me it was a one shot deal though
said the cai was the problem and if it happened again
i am on my own..

ive driven through puddles before

^^^ doing it before doesn't make it fool-proof...

i had a CAI on my old car, but the potential for hydrolock wasn't too great. also, i was able to disconnect it upstream of the MAF, so, in a really bad storm, i could just run with unfiltered air.

i won't be doing another CAI anytime soon. not @ all worth it.
