I have been having a couple of issues since I bought my 07 speed3. Issue 1 is an intermittent grinding of gears from first to second, and issue 2 is an intermittent lack of power and a hesitation on acceleration. I have taken it to two different dealerships neither have been able to confirm either of the issues while they had it of course. However one of the dealerships did a pcm reflash under bull 01-022-08 but did not replace the fuel pump that goes along with the bulletin. I have gotten the hesitation to happen with the foreman at the second dealership yet they are unable to do anything about it because the check engine light was not on and tech line would not allow them to repalce the fuel pump with out it on even thought the car displays all of the symptoms described in the bull. On the issue of the grinding somedays its really bad and other days it is not there leading me to believe that there is a burr on a synchro or a worn cone on second gear. They told me that i would be responsable for the tear down of the transmission a repairs if they tear it all apart and either find nothing wrong, or if they can prove abuse. The foreman took pictures of my cars tires and engine bay and underside of the car and verified to me that there are no signs of abuse or mods. I have an issue with having to pay to have an issue resolved that mazda does not feel like acknowleding because I have read about more then one occasion of trannies being rebuilt due to grinding issues and of fuel pumps being replaced for the issues that I am having, So why can I not get my issues resolved. I came from driving subarus and never had a problem getting my issues resolved and switched to this car when the subaru I wanted extended my wallet farther then I wanted and figured this would be a good trade off power wise and fun wise. Why does mazda refuse to stand behind their products and why are they so quick to jump to abuse when a customer complains about an issue? I have called customer support to no avail basically being told the same thing the dealerships told me I basically have to break down on the side of the road before my issues will be resolved at which point they will prove abuse and or neglect for letting the problem get so bad and will wind up eating it anyway. Maybe I think the wrong because I fix cars for a living at an acura dealership where we try to fix the problems or issues a customer is having at our expense before theirs but is that not the way it should be done.......sorry to rant but I was on the phone for 40mins talking to the customer service stone wall at mazda
