So... question about MS CAI

1) it voids your warranty
2) it gives you cel
3) it cost too much
sri is way better and you cant get hydrolock

1. The MS CAI is seen as a stock intake when going in for service.
2. Never had a cel, air straightener made things smoother.
3. Got mine for under 300 installed at the dealer and rolled into my note, kinda hard to notice the extra 5 bucks a month.

Once you tow your car in with anything serious those friendly faces at the dealer will change fast. Friend on mine with an STI though he had the best relationship with his dealer. Even hung out with some of the guys on weekends. Blew his tranny . . . warranty coverage denied.

Not really true. I had a coil go out on my MS3 and it fried my entire upper and lower wiring harness. $3500 in repairs covered by warranty.

Pulled my car into the shop with everything you see in my sig except at the time I didn't have the DP but a Test Pipe and I had a Map Clamp / MBC at the time as well.

It depends on the Service Manager. You can have the greatest relationship with the sales guys and it will not matter at all. The Service Manager is what makes or breaks the deal and my Service Manager is a really nice guy with common sense. If my mods have nothing to do with it, he fixes the issue. No questions.

Can you point me in the direction of where you ordered this from...? I ordered my MS CAI before they were even initially released back in '07... Any way got a badass price on it though.. $309, my buddy new the parts manager. But really if you could let me know where you got this from.. Thanks Yamaha72

reason why i went with SU is b/c i live in orlando and met them somewhere to pick mine up.

mine came to 19 and change from them.

so id go with JSC speed if you have to have yours shipped.

Glad you can speak for most dealers. Please show the test that proves the design is 10 times better and you aren't simply speaking out your ass.

the MSCAI was causing peoples motors to break down was prolly due to the lack of Air Flow str8ner.

mind you i just bought a MSCAI and purchased the AFS. but i got mine for a steal at from 155 including the purchase of the AFS

which i heard the MSCAI works perfectly after that.

so i didnt say to avoid the MSCAI. i said that it was causing problems for some people in its current state without the AFS. "ten times better" was an extreme exaggeration on my part and didnt mean to say it like that

The only problem with the MS CAI was that it would-in some cars-cause excessively lean LTFTs to the degree that the CEL was triggered. If you have hard data that shows that a MS CAI actually damaged an engine in an otherwise stock car I'd be very interested in seeing it.

the head tech at my dealer said he had two ms3's brought inb/c the mscai was causing their MS3 to break down.

i cant remember exactly why he said it caused it. i have to ask him again

no prob. a few of us in MS3's went out to the track last night. the track was hooking but i still had a bad run. 14.92 at 94mph. 60ft 2.33 only my second time running in two nights of going

whats been complete BS is that i went to the track wednes and last night and the same garbage happened.
