Cobb or CP-E Nano?

I understand all the headaches and money involved when it come to dealerships and warranties, but I have a short commute and I don't drive it hard at all.
So, any pointers on a DP-back exhaust that will remain relatively quiet?
I've also heard of a tune or chip that raises the stock boost pressure up to 18psi, how much does that cost?

That doesn't make smart financial sense to me.

You're willing to spend $500-$800 on exhaust, but you want something quiet? Your short commute, and your lack of aggressive driving is hardly worth the modification, nor the risk of eventually developing a smoking turbo.

Just my .02

It doesn't make sense if it's just about financial sense. As far as risk, changing the catback has almost no effect on this engine. Almost purely a question of sound aesthetics. Mid-pipe has some effect and might pose some small risk. All the action and potential for smoking turbos or other issues is from changing the very restrictive DP.

What I have seen over many months suggests to me that it is also from changing the very restrictive intake. But without pre-turbo EGT data from people with just an intake mod, I have nothing to back that speculation up with.

Being the considerate type of person I am, i'm willing to offer my blunt and honest advice if I thought it would be a waste of money really. I know modding is modding, and it's all in the hobby. But, let's be honest. If you don't drive the vehicle often, far, or aggressively, why spend that kind of money to make it faster? Especially when with each mod increases risk, especially more drama at the dealership. Not to mention, most people find out the hard way that they could have definitely afforded NOT to get certain parts for their car after feeling it did nothing but cause more problems, or too little gain for the cost.

It'd be especially less worth it for him to run synthetic, when he's not really geting much advantage for the extra he's paying. The same people make that same mistake buying a "trail-rated", "off-road ready", "V8 heavy torque" SUV, and they literally plan on doing nothing but picking the kids up from school and grocery shopping once a week!

I guess I shouldn't bother with a CBE if the gains will hardly be recognizable, I'll stick to just a midpipe. I've noticed Street Unit offers one for $200, can I find one cheaper anywhere else?

PG has the Corksport stainless for $160 shipped...

Are they back in stock now? Corksport is nice but apparently you need to at least be prepared to deal with sealing issues if you're not hooking it up to the Corksport CBE. SU has not had any reported issues that I have seen.

Some people have been concerned about the lack of hangers on the SU and chose the CS for that reason. But I have not had any issues in few months I've had mine on. The rationale for leaving off hangers is that these mid-pipes weighs much less than the stock pipe with the cat. Without the extra weight, there is no need for the extra support provided by the hangers.

If you want to save some cash and can wait a little while, here's a tip FWIW. Cobb is coming out with their DP in the next month or so. Over the next few months, you can bet a fair number of people with mid-pipes will make the jump and put them up for sale. Happy hunting!

I have heard that the Corksport test pipe does not fit the stock setup very well with it being 3" The SU test pipe is 2.5" and is apparently a better option if you have stock DP and CBE...

I know it got sidetracked, but I'm waiting for my Nano to come in possibly at the end of the week! Will post pics and right a review when I get it!

If you went with SU, it should be soon since they have people who didn't go to SEMA. Can't wait to get the full scoop on the final product and see some installed pix. I know mine won't be shipped any earlier than next week thanks to SEMA.

I wish CP-e would put it on their site. It's almost like their treating it like a red-headed stepchild. No "Coming soon" or anything. I know they believe in their CAI as the best option, but still.

I checked around at the some other stores, but SU had the shortest waiting period. I'll be going with their Midpipe as well.

The Nano is up on the CP web site as of a couple days ago. I heard from Steve at SU on the 7th. My Nano shipped Friday.
