looking for a map that could help me start tuning to the 20-24 psi range..... doing a stupid crazy build right now and about to do some exparamenting with some parts to hopefully break some new ground for us msp ladies and gents. litlle bit of mazda here, a dash of dsm there, with some crazy madman machists thrown in...... sound like a date for my msp!!!!!!
He could have one of those AFCs that you can only tune "in boost" - I believe Ken was offering those some time ago. Either way, at those boost levels he's going to need much larger injectors and therefore need to be able to tune in idle conditions which that version of the AFC wouldn't allow.I believe the map sensor in the AFC is only good for 16psi?

Hate to break it to you but you're going to need more than the AFC to run 20+ psi. Oh yeah, and we already have members pushing the 30+ psu range (and they aren't using AFCs).
how are the runnig that high with no afc? please share some info.... PLEASE!!!!!!!!! I AM BEGGING YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, all the big-power guys are using either a Microtech of Haltech (F10X, E6X or E8) full standlone. So you're going to get one of the "boost" only AFCs? So what are you going to do when you throw in those massive 565+ cc injectors? You won't be able to tune the idle with the AFC because you won't have that control. Are you just going to deal with an overly rich and possibly stuttering idle? As far as coil packs go the stocks are fine for just about anything you could throw at them. We hav/have had guys above the 300 whp range still using the stock coils and wires with no problems whatsoever.I think he means they are prob. using stand-alones, but i dono
But for 20+ psi you're going to need more than 565 cc injectors and IIRC there are none larger that are direct drop in or compatably with the stock ECU.565's idle fine.....
there nothing wrong with 9.1 compression you dont need to drop down your compression when you can make more power with less boost then you can with lower compression. You also sacrifice some spool time with lower compresison too. Im not just talking out of my ass either ive talked sam who hates his 8.5's and alejo who said he definetly noticed some more lag when he switched to 8.5 compression. Me personally i went with stock compression with a thicker head gasket to put me around 8.8
