What have you done to your MSP today?

This might be a stupid questions but i dont know s*** about timing so here is my question.

Im going to be swapping out my intake cam and my one buddy that is a caddy tech was telling me that i should see if its possible to change the timing on my intake cam. I dont have have adjustable gears and i have read that u never want to change the exhaust timing. so im just wondering if this is something that can be done.

Thanks.

you will need adjustable camgears to either advanced(move powerband lower) or retard(gain topend) the degree of timing, you will have to properly tune them with ems.

Talking about Intake, hey Ryan i need to do a better intake for my turbo, i had to remove the one i did, and now i have the filter right in the turbo, and is eating out the hot air from the fans.. do you know how or where can i get an Intake like the Injen in the SRI manner but with 4" piping ?

check out vibrant.com i ordered a 3" 45 degree elbow piece of intake pipe from them, i think it was 25-30 bucks

But i would keep it on the turbo, just my opinion, that's what the FMIC is for to keeps it all cool

man you should make a custom intake were the intake scoops the air coming under the bumper like this.

ok i gotcha guys, i was just hoping it would have been possible to just maybe move the cam gear 1 or 2 teeth, agian that could be something completely horrible to do lol, i have never messed or really read about messing with timing.

yea you dont want to do it like that that would move the entire posistion of your cam with the cam gears your only move the posistion of the cam gear not the cam it self

This is how i had it, but that Piping i was using for it sucks,,, i need to take the Filter away from the insane hot air from the fans

o ok i see how it work know, to be honest i have always wondered how the cam gears actually worked, and yes i guess u can call me a newb lol, but thanks for the quick responses.

Any help or ideas where i can get a 4" Intake like the one you are seeing in the picture ? it can be the same shape, or any other that can work for my setup and engine bay space.

that address you gave me is a Computer Server Website bro.. nothing related to cars just computers

Searching Google for a 4" Intake for my car, look what i found.. I'm still speechless... don't want to even know how much power that thing is making, all i know it has 4 GT45 Turbos, and the Intake manifolds are just like Turbo manifolds... just freaking INSANE
