What have you done to your P5 today?

Got home from a couple of months in the Arctic, went to start the car. Made the trip to Canadian Tire to buy a new battery, now she starts fine. I guess I should have listened to them last time I had a oil change and they said I needed a new battery.

It did feel good to drive it again.

Finally got the bumper done and the lip put on it, also the pics show my new rims a little better as well(they are kind of dirty though):

Well she's almost back together. The only things still missing are the j-pipe, wideband O2 sensor and an oil return line. Those should hopefully be installed tomorrow and hopefully she'll start right up without any major issues. I also received and installed some Catz driving foglights. I'm a little weary aout having fogs with only a 30 degree light pattern but we'll see. I also got the fog covers and I've got a neat idea for them...

Question...when I went to get Manual transmission fluid today, they told me I was supposed to get 75-90 gear oil...is this correct...when we looked it up in the computer it also said this...any help is appreciated...Thanks...

Yup, 75W90 is right. Much thicker than engine oil to protest those gears!

Wow today was another long day. Went to pick n pull for the half off labor day special to look for steelies and lo and behold there sits a 3rd gen 626 with its beautiful steel rims. Pop those suckers off, get myself a wheelbarrow and 51 dollars later, home we go (a little high on the price cause the tires were technically paid for as well). I get home, give them a good scrubbing and wash, use a green scotch brite, and paint them with wheel paint. One can later, they look good as new. Oh, I also test fit them and they fit perfectly. Just clear of the calipers.

Now what I'm not sure is the size of the rims. I measured from edge to edge and it looks like 15 but the tires are 165/55 R14? are they 14's and I just measure wrong? Also, what size winter tire should I need for them.

Also gave her a thorough cleaning inside and out and got her ready for the meet tomorrow.

I can't wait to get my car back together and running right so I can then move on to give her a proper cleaning. I seriously need to claybar (never done it before) and wax her.

Decided to hook the subs back up in stereo rather than bridged due to bass was getting a bit overbearing. Washed, waxed and steam cleaned the interior today while I playing with it... now sitting comfortably in the garage...

What sub/amp combo are you running...

Nevermind I got the tire situation figured out. I'm going with a 185/70 tire. Good thing I picked up 14's cause the winter tires are only gonna be 51 a pop. $240 shipped to my door. So basically I got a full winter wheel setup for about $300 with the installation. whoot.

LOL, I've determined I won't be driving my car up here during winter. It kind of sucks because my truck isn't really a reliable winter vehicle either but then again it's more than 5 inches off the ground. I just remember when I first came to OH to look for apartments it was during that weekend of the "storm of the century". There was like 12 inches of snow on the ground before we even arrived. Hell, we were in my g/f's stock Protege LX and that was plowing snow!

lmao yea I've heard nothing but amazing things about steelies and winter tires and people are saying it's the difference between night and day. I just bought new rims so I was looking for a way to get winter wheels and I got the chance and jumped on it. 300 bucks is a great investment in something like this IMO

Because bulbs other than oem have burnt overlays might be why.

My stock bulbs burnt my rockblocker overlays?

Sounds a lot like my setup. I bought some used (one season) Blizzaks for $100, 4 steelies for $100 and $70 for m&b. I also wanted to go with a 14" 'cause tires wont break the bank.

Here is what 185/70's will look like on the car.
