[Prodigy's Race Protege Project]

how much did it cost to finish the floor? say i have a 21 x 21ft garage...

I used the same stuff on my 20x20 garage. It set me back about $100 from Lowes. The floor has been coated for 2 years, has seen a ton of abuse, and shows little wear. I have yet to find a chemcial that will soften/remove the coating.

sounds good. i owe it to my dad since i made a huge mess of my garage floor, the drivetrain fluid change was horrible on the evo, center diff, tranny, and rear diff, in short i made a mess....

Doh! That sucks. The paint will definately help with spill clean up. Just be sure to prep the surface to the maximum extent of the directions, otherwise it won't bond.

I went with the Behr 2-part epoxy (Rustoleum is $39/250sq.ft.).
Reg retail is $69/250sq.ft. but I had a friend pick it up for me.

As Kevin said, 95% of the work done will be prep work.
Make sure you clean every spot thoroughly or else the epoxy won't stick (especially the cheaper water-based epoxy kits).

Time for a sub-1800 lb protege.

I found out this weekend that I may be able to have a complete carbon fiber front end, doors, and trunk lid made for me.
A customer that's been coming to my work weekly for the past 3 years builds 28' boats out of wood.
He said that he's going to make the move over to fiberglass and carbon fiber this year (buying the tools and materials now).
He's wanting to start working on small projects (car bodies) before he goes all out for the boats.
Now, I just need to find someone willing to lend me a MSP front bumper for the molding process.

Labor will be free, the only cost will be materials.

Why do you need an MSP front bumper? Can't you just use a P5 bumper and put the lip on?

Msp's dont have the corner marker lights.
I'll borrow a p5 bumper if the owner doesn't mind me filling the marker holes.

A CF front bumper? or front end?

I'd be able to make multiple front ends out of CF or fiberglass easily once the mold is made.

Sweet thread man. Can't believe i went this long without seeing it. We have to catch up sometime.
Thanks.
I have a WingsWest front bumper you could borrow if I could borrow yours for the mold. (yes)

Actually that might work out because my front bumper is already kinda messed up. Got pierced by my dads trailer hitch, was kinda messed up by the previous owner, and has just normal wear and tear. So anything else wouldn't really matter. Good luck fitting my intercooler in there though....

didn't the r-comps pull some of it up?

I may have some -AN stuff for you. Let me see what I have. Do you need any other fittings besides -6 stuff? I have a lot -10 fittings and line. I believe I sold some of the -6 line but may have more. I have lots of other parts if you need :)

sub'n!

I thought the msp and p5 bumpers in the later years were the same? i.e. they stopped making the p5 with the sidemarker in the bumper?

from what ive been told the msp bumper does not match up when put on an 02 p5

I think I know what your talking about, but isn't it the non-msp sedans that had some kind of fitment issue with the upper grill piece? I don't know the exact details, but I remember hearing something about that
