5,000 To Spend :):)

use the $5000 to put onto your loan and then refinance it at a lower interest rate and lower monthly payment :)

Go with the handling upgrades.

1)Lowering Springs/Camber Links
2)Sway Bar kit. (A lot of people are getting great results with just a rear sway bar upgrade.)
3)Tire/Wheel combo

Then Power upgrades:
1)Intake (Cold Air/Short Ram)
2)Turbo Manifold upgrade
3)Turbo Back Exhaust/or just Cat Back to pass emissions testing. Or go Hi-flow cat...
4)If you must upgrade the Intercooler, do some reading on which is better, an upgraded Top mount, or the Front Mount.
5) Some say that the stock by pass valve is good to go as is, some say an upgraded BPV is the way to go. If you want the sound of an aftermarket BPV, upgrade it. The stock one will give you that PSSH sound with an upgraded CAI/SRI system.

Exterior Upgrades:
1) I like that front bumper that is being sold..not sure what its called, but it looks sick... someone fill in the blank someone? =)
2) Window tint
3) Headlight/Tail light protective film.
4) Nice car washing kit.
5) Maybe a good set of tools to install all you go fast goodies?

Other than that, of course these are just ideas...maybe you already got some sweet stuff for your ride? let us know how it goes!

I was in a similar situation but instead i spent money elsewhere:
spent $6000 on some good furniture for my brand new house :)
and a $1400 camera lens for my Canon DSLR camera :)
too bad nothing went to the car...
oh well.

good luck

WOw!! I think anybody would know that!! Did he ask you to tell him that. He's not freaking stupid.

shut the **** up

haha AGREED! Some people are douche bags. That guy needs to take his comments back to the MS6 section where he belongs, or if he wants to talk s***, do it on the .....3forums.com thats where all the douchebags are at, they'll love your inciteful comments over there buddy. Thanks for the backup Phil(thumb)

I'm not a big fan of lots of show and no go, so I would do exterior s*** and wheels last. I know you can argue that lightweight wheels can improve acceleration and handling, but IMO, not enough to justify spending $1,500-2,000 just on wheels, unless you're looking for a different look. The OE wheels are not that heavy for 18's and better yet, they're free (well, they came with the car). Tires obviously have a more significant effect on handling, so if they're worn, I would replace them. Prices are approximate:

Cobb SRI = $180
Forge BPV = $150
CPE TBE = $1,200
TMIC = $600
or FMIC = $1,000
BC Coilovers = $1,000
Cobb rear sway = $175
Camber Kit = $250
Short Shifter = $250
Cobb AP = $700
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$4,905 with the FMIC
$4,505 with TMIC
If you do TMIC, I'd spend the extra $$$ on brake upgrades, mainly pads and SS lines. The brakes on this car are pretty beefy. I don't know if I'd blow money on slotted/drilled rotors. Do a good fluid flush with some Motul.
go with the fmic and get some shifter bushings as well.
If anybody is a total douchebag. Your the one!! Simply he asked what to do to the car, not an opinion of putting money into his car loan or etcccc. If you don't like my comments, well that's too bad!! Don't get all butt/hurt(nuts)
I have a quick question. If I was to get FMIC, TBE, and SRI what else would I need to make my car safe( and by safe I mean now that I destroyed my warranty)... I believe Fuel pump would have to be involved as well as motor mount. Anything else??
What I want to know is how the hell are you guys getting an extra 5000 bucks laying around. Do you just forget that you have all that money?! Must be nice!
JD you will definaqtely what some kinda of managemtn with those mods and the fuel pump in some shape or form, wether you feel comfortable with a more expensive but more optioned stand alone or if you want to go with the cobb AP or just an air/fuel controller is up to you, but some kind of management would be smart(personally I like the AP).
So say you do Intake(w/ BPV), TBE, FMIC and management you will have more than enough power to have fun and still keep it as a daily driver, maybe eventually add the exhaust manifold.
Spend the rest on suspension(coilovers/sway bars/strut bars) or appearance pending what You like.
My suggestiong would be to do what you want iwth about 3 of that 5k and hold on to the rest in case the unexpected happens.
Stop being a dink just because the OP got an answer to his "What should I do with my money?" question that you didn't like.
And it's you're. As in, you are. For example: you are a tool.
Refinancing his loan is something that will help the OP do more with his money which means more money for mods in the long run. It is a smart thing to do, and you are pissing your pants in outrage because someone suggested it. Are you going to stop or do we need to find you a diaper?
thank you. in all fairness, you are re-hashing an arguement that is about 2 weeks old. i was going to start criticizing that post and come back with comments but i left it alone.
apparently, i'm the tool
