Autocross 8/2 (Sat) at Devens, MA (Renegade Miata Club, all Mazdas OK)

The pre-reg levels are on the low side now, but I'm expecting it to be at least 40 cars (many people don't prereg). They cap the event off at 60 cars. Last two events I went to were full, despite low pre-regs.

Anyways, I spoke to the organizer of the event and turns out that if you just want to try an autocross event, the first time around you can run w/o a club membership, just show up and pay the $40 "other club member" price.

So you're welcome to come watch, but I strongly suggest you give it a shot and actually participate. They have loaner helmets, so just show up, bring $40 (and make sure you can be there for the day).
 
Oleg ... a couple of friends are interested but not Mazda owners... was being limited a mazda resolved?

I know I could look it up but of course I'm deciding to go late in the game and work's got the squeeeeze on me! (boom04)

They can run the first time without club membership ($40 "other club member" price). And then they can become a member of SCCA or BMW CCA or something like that if they want to run again. So yeah, bring them along.
 
One thing note to all: please drive the speed limit once you get off the highway in Rt 2, especially in Ayer. Ayer police knows there's a car club using the runways every weekend and they are out in full force. The speed limit on the road to the runways is 35mph. There is a 25mph section through the town. People have been pulled over for 28 in that 25mph section!

So drive very carefully in town and around town. The reputation of the clubs that run on the runways is on the line.

Just show up by 7:45am and you'll be fine! Yes, rain or shine and I promise you'll have fun even if it rains. If it rains, bring a tarp to cover your stuff with.

Everything loose will need to be out of the car.

is this event being held anywhere near the parking lot where ironstone ventures does their motorcycle instruction course?

I know MSF does some training at Devens, but I have no idea about Ironstone.

I am not going to make it... For some reason I thought the 2nd was on Sunday and not tomorrow. I have saturday study for my students from 9am-11am.
