So i recently came across this ultra cheap lip that im willing to sacrifice my $20 on. Anybody have picture of them on your ms3? Anybody tried it yet?
Well, i seen one on somebody's ms3 but picture was kind of dark and coudnt really see it well. I saw couple on srt4 but would like to see it on ms3.

Lips from my experience gets ruined easily and i think this would be cheap alternative.

I'm going to try the same thing. The old garage door seal lip. I have the stuff here. Maybe I'll try it on Sunday.

check the M3F forums. lots of people have done it on there.
not a ms3 but you get the idea.....

buying my stuff this weekend. Found the whole writeup on the srt forum the other day and have been looking to do it

here is a link to the items needed and how to do it plus 16 pages of pics of what it looks like on an srt4 neon and a few other cars:

the picture above looks great! on the srt how to, it shows the differences in materials and also shows the difference based on which side you stick to the car so you can see ones that stick outwards like a splitter (like the one above) and ones that stick downwards like a lip

you already know how i feel about this idea. BUT, after looking through 10 of the 16 pages of that link ^^^ i am quite impressed with the look of it. AND, this s*** won't crack or break.

SOMEONE PUT THIS ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE! although, there really isn't a place for it. kyle, this weekend, we should take a look at this as well

the member on here in the "lets see all the red ms3" thread blacksp33d has pics of his on red and black. he actually put them on the sides as well but made them stick out, looks liked those splitters on the sides like the red one at the dealership we were talking about. So it looks good on front and sides. I will definately do it on the rear too. Maybe just the sides of the rear to see and if it looks good I can add some to the bottom of the black middle piece on the rearend.

Am I the only one who thinks the home depot lip is cheap and ugly?

Such a pointless "ricer mod" in my opinion.

while i don't think it's ugly, i think adding this to the vehicle is simply retarded. it's a soft piece of rubber held on by double sided tape. it's weird. it belongs on a ******* garage door, not a car.

BUT, with that being said, it certainly beats the s*** out of paying 150 for a lip, and 100 for paint and installation.

my biggest concern is the point...what is the point of adding this lip? cheap lower front end? the appearance of a lip?
that is something i don't really get. and don't even get me started on adding something to the front without adding something to the back. jesus...

since this protects the front bumper from scraped thats a good thing1 and it's flexible so it won't crack or break like a damn fiberglass lip would

ahem....

yeah, who would consider using stuff from home depot on their ride?

so, get rid of that speaker box made from MDF....and those charge pipe couplers.....and all that stainless and grade5/8 hardware....and that DIY NA cold air intake tube....and those DIY brake cooling ducts....and that outdoor carpeting you are using in your stripped to the bone flyweight racecar....and your roll-bar padding...and the padding in your fiberglass race seat....and that pre-drilled steel stock your race seat is mounted to....and that sheet of aluminum or ABS that your new gauges are mounted in....and that marine battery box you have in the trunk....and that rustoleum paint...and the mini fire extinguisher....and that Garmin Zumo.

******' ricers.

i can't tell if you're being serious or not.

Buy a proper front lip...considering the time wasted on installing and uninstalling this thing...it's not even worth the $20.00...

and as far as function...I don't see it holding up to well under 60mph wind forces....so basically it is non-functional and it's known everywhere as a cheapass way to get a "lip"...

Homemade splitters can be made well, but the garage door seal lip is just not worth the attempt....

Well, maybe on a $4K Honda Civic...or old schul Miata...but NOT on a new MS3...for gods sake...
