AP released

what car did you get your numbers for? to my knowlage ours hasnt been released yet and we should see better gains then that being a boosted car look at what the sti and evo do we should be comparable to ther gains.

you would want to get a custom tune for any turbo upgrade...OTS maps are kind of only meant to get you to the tuner at that point. Plus you may shorting yourself a few dozen ponies without a custom map.

100% right...

and increasing the potential for a catastrophe...

dyno tuning as per the particular parts and the particular car is the only way to really go. even stock vs. stock, each car is different, but a general program such as the AP's will work "ok" because it can encompass the spectrum in which said stock cars exist. the further the car deviates from stock, unless you have EXACTLY the parts spec'd by Cobb for the succeeding stage(s), it'll be off and not maximize what you could have. like i said about the stock level, even with their spec'd parts for the stage 2, you'll still not be maximizing your potential because the bottom line is each car is different, each car is broken in differently, treated differently overall, etc, etc....

you're right. The MS3 is so obviously detuned from the factory for marketing/price point reasons. What other car can you think of that runs so rich stock that the tailpipe is jet black in a week..

I would wager that a completely stock MS3 tuned up would hit around 280hp/300tq at the wheels.

The MS3 is really gonna turn some heads once a there is a reliable reflash for it.

DISI is a newer engine and I bet they don't want to run the risk of having it run too lean. Anyway you look at it, just about everyone with mods are going to need a custom tune. The only ones that will benefit with the stock maps are going to be the stock cars, or cars running Cobb's equipment.

What an intrigueing thread. Full of mystery and drama. Thank you all for the free exchange of opinion. That is what I love about our country, and the forum of course. Most of you guys seem pretty f'n smart about our cars. seriously. Why aren't you tuning yourselves? Not to be rude.
