Aeroforce/Dashhawk/ or Regular Boost Gauge

I'm probably just going to get a TMIC and Cobb AP and stop there. Does it make sense to get an Aeroforce Gauge or Dashhawk? Or just stick with a boost gauge? I will have a Cobb SRI, Corksport Downpipe, PG Racepipe, Forge BPV, and TMIC.

Never hurts to be able to see what is going on. I have the Aeroforce, it works great for me. Some people went with the Dashhawk, personal preference. I honestly just needed something to read AFR and Boost, I didn't need the ability to see 18 different parameters at once, and data logging doesn't do anything for me. If it does for you, then get the Dashhawk.

I went with the DashHawk because it was a matter of being available at the time. Otherwise I would have purchased the Aeroforce. The DashHawk, and I a pretty sure the Aeroforce is able to check your ecu when get a CEL. Plus both are a directly plug into the OBD-II port. Price wise, a boost gauge is cheaper. Really it is up to what you want and what you want to spend. To me the Aeroforce and the DashHawk are both better options over a boost gauge.

Dashhawk. I think logging is a great feature. You can do a run without constantly checking your gauges to see what you are holding/ spiking, you just upload a logged run. Also usefull for pulling AFR's and comparing them offline to your rpm's.

I plan on using it at the 1/4 mile to record how well i'm driving by looking at throttle position, shift times, rpm shift points ect. It's kinda scary to watch how fast heatsoak occurs during staging.

The dashhawk is a more in depth tool imo. If you use it to its fullest. For example, I should be getting my forge bpv in the mail next week and I plan to do a few baseline runs with the stocker, looking at boost psi, rpm, speed, retard, boost temp and intake temp. I'll then swap on the BPV and do the same run. I can then overlay the graphs and see if boost is building faster/ holding higher and see if intake temp is affected in anyway (doubt it, but eh i can log 6 variables so there). This way I have real data to check and see an actual increase not just "it feels faster". I'm pretty paranoid and ocd so I hate spending money on performance without a way to quantify the results, this gives me some peice of mind....

I agree that the Dashhawk is the more in depth tool. Datalogging is much easier and comprehensive, but the Aero gauge also records/playback and IMO is more asthetically pleasing. It has most of the same capabilities as the DH - minus the true logging.

Both are good choices - just depends on what you are looking for in a scan tool/gauge.

Cobbs AP will be able to read your boost. If you dont want to get a gauge you can leave the AP plugged in and use it as a boost gauge and check you A/F also.I wonder if they will come out with a mount so you could mount the AP to something so it could be read better when driving.

I don't think the dashhawk would be worth it since I won't be upping boost, or messing with a/f. The Aeroforce would be cool to get readings if I need to. I'm not planning on going past the mods I have planned so I'm thinking that the AP would be the way to go if I can read boost and a/f.

I own a DashHawk and it's fantastic. There is an entire sub-forum on the MSD Forums which provides excellent support. Datalogging, code pulling, ANY parameter you want displayed, 0-60, 1/4, it's a fantastic tool.

I'm a car dork and being able to play with stuff like this fascinates me. Well worth the investment.

Just remember that all of these devices read the OBDII port, which is reading the stock sensors, so if you put a MAP clamp on, you still need a boost gauge, because all any of these will show is what the clamp is set to.

Cobb AP will never come out... How long have they been up-talking this...and we have yet to see it...

Stop counting on something that might never see daylight...

Just had to throw a wrench in there... (evil)

DashHawk - Why? Because MSD has an active forum where the developer is always involved doing updates, listening to users and fixing problems. The DashHawk as a LOT of support and there is a new update like every week or two.

Good Customer Service > ALL

OK i'm convinced.... i am ordering a DASHHAWK. i plan on using it to compare manifold temps on the stock IC against that of the TRZ unit that i will have soon. not to mention all the other fun i will have with it !! it is an awesome tool, and the price is amazing for what you get.

I already have a boost gauge, but will be springing for the dashhawk at some point in the future to go along with. Datalogging & afr info ftw...

They took delivery of their R53 GTR the other day. MS3 on the backburner again.

i already have a boost gauge too, and i will have to keep it. since i have my map clamp set at 10.5psi the DH will never show more than that amount.
