Haha ... lets just take a little bit of all rally cars:

Evo wing: Check
STi hood schoop: Check
323 Fog Lights: Check

thank you very much !!! i will be getting the rule book in the mail i hope here soon , i dont want to print 121 pages of rules , id rather it already be in a book format LOL . And it looks at tho i will be building my own light set-up , due to the fact i think a light " bar " would look better with the MS6 instead of the hood lights

don't forget the super cool "hot pink" MPS logo inserts, to rival that of the STI (attn)

btw there is a rally track just outside of las vegas in jean , its a dry lake bed , that has been turned into a rally track

Then get to modding!! I wanna see it done (drinks) I wanna see if it will keep up with all the subarus and evos and lancias and all that other stuff.

WRONG!!! that wing's off an sti!!

(cheers2) lol, bustin your balls.

koenig, i hope you didn't think i was telling him not to do it cuz the manual says not to lol, i simply said that it just said it, along with probably not racing the car period. a car's a car, the engine, trans, rear diff, it's all enclosed. taking the car on the dirt would be almost like screwing with the car in the snow (traction wise and such, i believe this is somewhat comparable). manufacturer has to do everything in their power to make sure you don't break the car....at least under warranty periods haha. but go for gold, i'd like to see it slidways in the dirt!

Whats the MS6 wheel base length compared to the rally "elite". Just wondering how hard its gonna be to get it rotated around hairpins and the like?

MS6 has 105.3" wheelbase vs. 103.3" on the '08 WRX Sti and 104.3" on the Evo X. That's not the real issue. I don't believe that the stock internals can handle hours of WOT punishment that rally racing requires. That MS3 rally car I posted pics of has all Cosworth internals. It can be done, though, with enough money.

i didn't mean just you, but everyone in general saying "our cars aren't supposed to go off road blah blah blah"

technically the sti and the evo aren't supposed to go offroad either.... unless you've performed all the necessary mods.

that's all I was trying to get at, not just pointing the finger at any one person.

It just seems like people are quick to kill someone elses idea (stooges) at least everywhere I look around is how it seems. If he has the money, and such, I'd definitely like to see it done.

This isn't something I'd attempt unless I had all that money (probably gonna cost him like 50k in mods) and another car to drive, because as it is ya know, the MS6 is my daily, so even if I had the money..... I can't exactly have a rally/daily car now can I? lol.

oh yeah.... the patented "anything can be done with the right amount of money"

it's true.... just depends if the person doing it has, or wants to spend that kind of money. I'm thinking he may just need close to 30k in mods (perhaps more?).... why do I say that? well for one he'll need the power mods to make sure his car has enough power to get sideways in the dirt and keep up with the competition, which means in order to do that, getting the built engine and the forged internals, upgraded turbo, proper tuning and standalone ECU if the PROCEDE isn't good enough.... etc etc., and because he's going to have to get a lot of custom reinforced stuff designed for the car... like a rally suspension and such.... since they don't really make a kit he can just run out and pick up : \ and other reinforced body parts for the punishment.... probably a custom rollcage made if he can't find one on the market, etc.

It's gonna be a pain in the butt no doubt, but definitely cool to see.(silly)

I don't get it guys.....it's his money, his car, and seems like an idea that could end up really well. Why the hate? I bet if a company built up a MS6 rally car (a la the mazda 3 one) there'd be pics all around and people posting those little drool smileys asking why they can't buy one off the showroom floor. I for one would love to see this happen. If he's smart about it (which it seems he's trying to be) could be awesome.

Even though I don't know anyone who posted.... so my reason is probably wrong. In situations like these I tend to just chaulk it up to not having thought of the idea first. (shrug)

i dont go into doing anything big like this if i dont do my research first . Thats why im asking around about all this , so that i can have the know how . Yes i plan on getting a fully built motor, yes i plan on spending alot of money . But im getting sick and tired of all these fu***** STI and EVO dudes saying haha you only drive a mazda this and that . I wanna prove them all wrong that the MS6 can do just the same S*** if not better , On the road and dirt track . It can and WILL BE DONE , will take time but WILL BE DONE . Yes caps i love them haha .

PS im getting mazda involved ..... Cant tell you how but its looking good !!!!

Actually, to be competitive in the Open class, you'd need to spend about $100K. I believe that's what a factory prepped Evo will cost you. Plus, you'd need lots of spares and support equipment. It's not a poor man's sport. I don't know how much money LV has. But, I'm not going to shoot him down just because I couldn't do it. I have to say that this is the most negative forum I've seen, yet. There seem to be a lot of guys lying in wait for someone to ask an obvious question so they can say "SEARCH!" or just come on a thread to make a negative comment. I guess it makes them fell better about themselves. (blarf)

good god man...... $100k? wow....... I don't follow rally much except when I watch it on the SPEED channel occasionally, but DAMN......... that is a lot of money. I could get an r34 or a Lotus Esprit v8 with that........ s***.

Hey LV get mazda involved and tell them to give us a ******* ECU with full control for those with MS6s that don't give 2 craps about the "warranty"

But, could you jump an R34 100' over the crest of a hill without destroying it?
