.....I ordered up some SU black silicone boost tubes. Now, they come with nice Breeze Co. High Torque stainless clamps but I put on all stainless Summit racing T bolt clamps. Added security at $4 a pop.
So, while I was at it I put one of the smaller 2.5" high torque clamps on the inlet pipe at the turbo inlet and the other one on the inlet pipe were the stock intake hose connects. I figuered I would use them since I had them. I then put the IC back on the the SU hoses fit like stock but just felt 50x stronger and real sticky. After all was said and done I took the car for a HARD ride and felt a difference?????? WTF????? I say to myself.....huh.......what is the boost gauge doing? Holding boost longer!!!!!! Come on...I had a boost leak this entire time and no CEL!!??
My car NEVER spiked in any gear over 16psi. Now it spikes to over the 17psi mark (hard to see but it's closer to 20 than B4) and holds the 15+PSI much longer (this is VERY easy to see)! Cool...........figured I'd post this as a heads up. Not too sure what did it, tubes or clamps, but........I'm happier than a fly at s*** Cafe........ :)

ya i have my su boost tubes sitting around right now... i want to install them... i think i may have a slight boost leak also... im figuring that much due to the dyno i only got ~250hp and someone else got ~270 and i have intake/topmout/bov and he has only intake... we both have the same intake... i want to install it asap... quick question tho... what did you use to get the stock clamps off since there facing toward the engine... kinda a hard reach for me...

Very interesting, think i will def add these to my "to do" list b4 upping the boost.

Well, I used a 1/4" stuby ratchet with a deep 10mm socket, extensions and that's it. Not even a swivel. You'll get them off. I had mine off in 5 minutes TOPS.

That doesn't make any sense. Why the turbo is gona hold boost longer, with just a different set of i/c hoses?

Somebody please explain. (scratch)

u could accomplish the same thing by just adding some nice tbolt clamps.....hell prob just tightening the stock clamps...mine were very loose

well from what i have heard the stock ones are prone to i guess slightly collapsing (not fully, but slightly) while driving or under boost w.e so that could make a huge difference...

Wouldn't they expand because they are under pressure? Expansion causing a boost leak=less power.

Well, if there was an actual leak, it makes sense. But that means that the new hose did nothing. The boost leak was basically fixed by the new clamps, unless there was something wrong with the stock hose.

I had the same thing happen. Only I just removed the IC and replaced it. Stock tubes. Hit 19 and settle at 17.5-18.
I think a good check of all hoses is in order as soon as you can do it.

How about posting the part numbers for the Summit clamps if you have them around.

I love that line. ROFLMFAO

I wasn't trying to say that buying and installing silicone boost tubes fixed a problem I had. I had no idea I had a boost leak. I thought my car ran and acted fine. I ordered boost tubes because I wanted stiff nice looking silicone tubes while I was putting on the SS T bolt clamps and an air pipe kit. I ended up just doing the boost tubes and clamps and noticed a difference right away. Using T bolt clamps is a good idea on any forced induction set up.
The install fixed a leak I didn't know I had. I made this post like I said up top as a **Heads up** to check your boost tube clamps to make sure they are good and tight.

Just go to summitracing.com and put in the word T bolt clamp in the search box. Then pick Summit's brand and the 2.5" size and the 3" size. I do not have the part number on hand. The bags are with Oscar.

too lazy to go down to the garage and look..how many did you get from summit? Two if each size?

Do you have a pic of what the stock tube look's like?

why do you need a picture of what the stock tubes look like? go out to your car and look.
