Rat poop!!!

is your driveway/yard fenced in? get any kind of dog in the terrier breed, that'll take care of the rat. and it will teach your neighbor to keep their cat inside where they are supposed to be.

What abt those sticky trap? maybe that will work...If not just get the DECON ones. It came with its own tray so no spill for you.

DON'T get the sticky trap, oh god, I had to trap a gopher once cuz it was digging holes around our backyard, and it gets trapped, but I noticed that it's back end was not on the trap, so it crapped itself MANY times.......so unless you want to get the MOST amount of crap on your engine for one last time, then go ahead and use the sticky trap...oh the horror...

Alright, the answer is to make him a nice little warm home next to the trash can. I'm talking like a little space heater and everything, with a little cozy bed and all. Once you have that set up, make sure to leave plenty of food out for him. This way you ensure he stays out of your engine bay and won't think twice about eating some lousy wires while he has real food to take back to his little mouse home. Problem solved :)

Also, your neighbors cat comes on your property and consumes rat poison, and somehow it's your fault? Keep your dam cat inside lady. Jeeze... lol

Hey I like your idea. Make him a nice little kitchen too.(lol2)

Yeah my next door neighbor is a little CooCoo, I think that's where all the rats are coming from, the lady is a pack rat. I swear you get close to her house it smells like she's keeping a dead body in there. I'll be suprise if she still has that dead cat in her living room.

No unfortunately it's not. I've been wanting to get a fence so I can let my dog run around the front yard, but I'm kinda afraid the coyotes roaming my streets my attack my dog.

I feel like I live in a Zoo, there's lot's a crazy animals walking around here like wild rabbits, possums, deers, coyotes, rattle snakes (suprise I haven't seen one these in my engine), and of course rats. I even saw a guinea pig run across the street one time. Maybe one day I'll see an elephant.

Well I cleaned out my engine this morning hosed it down really good and sprayed some engine degreaser. Some of those poops where baked on there really good and I had to get a flat screw driver to get it off.

Well, I'll be on guard tonight, the rat now has a clean engine bay to eat on. I got a Rat trap set-up with plenty of food and moth balls that I will place in my engine tonight. So we will see. Tonight is a good night cause my wife is making some Beef stew and I plan to share it with the Rat. Yes it's that bad.

Sunday nights must be this Rats favorite night because trash pick-up is on Monday so by Sunday my trash is filled.

That would suck if this guy has several friends that he invites for poker nights in my engine bay.

wow I almost thought this thread was a joke at first lol.

hope the mothballs and traps work! I just found some little mice poops under my oven the other day (boom02)

So one evening I drive home from work and park my car in the garage. Next morning I come out to go to work and the car win't start. I lifted the hood to check it out and surprise, there is a groundhog sitting on top of my engine. He had a bunch of wires chewed up and the heatsheild under the hood torn up. You should have heard the insurance lady laugh when I called it in.

I almost peed my pants reading this....

Sorry to hear that the rat has invited himself to live in your engine bay. That really sucks. Hope you get 'em.

Funniest thread ever!!!

Still say the cat in the hood thing would be the best option......just give it some cat nip and a magazine to read...

Ok I'm trying to get this freakin' Rat off my engine. My car is parked outside everynight a few feet away from the trash can and "Ratatouille" loves to have his dinner in my engine bay where it is warm. When he is done he leaves poops in there. I want to place a mouse trap but not sure how big this thing is, by the size of those poops it must be a big one. Any suggestions or has anyone had this problem?

(hahaspit)I am sorry, I about cried from laughing. I just watched that movie this weekend with the kids.

Moth balls? Some type of granual poison to put around your trash cans?

(lol) Have you tried parking your car somewhere else? Maybe see how it could be climbing in there... maybe sealing your garbage can better, or relocating that as opposed to relocating the car... (lol2)

This has got to be the best thread... remember how you won the "lowest mileage" thread?

Just a thought....

Have you looked in your airbox lately?

I know mice and other sorts of rodents think its a great place to set up shop, and since it would be warm, next to food and some place to build a nest....

I would think its funny except I have taken waaaaay too many of them out of other folks cars. (That or nuts from a squirrel or chipmunk)

As far as the trap goes, go get some of the wooden ones and bait them with peanut butter. Put them under the car and one on top of your engine, see what happens. I would just start with a mousetrap, not a rat trap. I have a feeling that what you found would be much bigger if it was a rat...

Rat unda the hood

Make him/her a nice little snack of "Prestone" meatballs, and leave them in thier special spot unda the hood ? (drinks)

I am a bio major and study small mammals as part of research for my degree. If you want to get rid of them one crapping in your car, place a snap trap in the engine bay where it deficates and bait it with peanut butter. Also remedy whats causing the rats to come. Clean up any trash that they have access to. If your worried about snap traps hurting other animals (ie. cats) aoround the trash, try placing a sherman live trap around the trash also baited with peanut butter. It looks like a small retangular box and won't trap anything but small mammals. I have seen small traps now on tv commercials that are only big enough for mice/rats to get into, but kill the animal.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately there are no other places to park but my driveway. My garage is already occupied with my SUV and wife's car. But I like your other suggestion as to relocating the garbage cans. I will look for another place for them. Thanks!

Actually I haven't looked in there lately. I will look in there right now. Thanks!
