How to disable TPMS

Is there a way to disable the TPMS? I don't want to spend a few hundred dollars for fancy stems when I get my snow tires with steelies for the winter. I don't see a fuse for it but can I disconnect the module??

I've not tried this, but I've read about it elsewhere
Contain the 4 TPMS units in a sealed enclosure of your choice under approx 32psi. Keep that enclosure somewhere in your car. Long as the enclosure holds pressure, the problem should be solved

Again, this is just a suggestion of which I have no personal experience

Or, you can just leave them off, and the light will come on BUT NOT BEEP. It should only beep when it measures a low tire, not when it can't read the tpms.

take all of them out and put them inside the spare then air it up to 32 psi...cant really use ur spare then tho

is gonna be no beep at all, it will flash for about 2 mins after you turn on your engine then just stay there forever.

I'll confirm the "no beep"; I just bought a set of rims and studs and also did not wish to kick in another $250.
You learn to live with the light...

but I REALLY hate that damn light, always feel my tires are run out of air, so i have to check tire pressure once two or three days.

which probably isn't a bad thing...I was going to just put a bit of black electrical tape over that spot, but my wife said no.

YEa I kind of like to have the spare for when I get a flat.

Haven't done it, but you could probably buy a cheap trailer wheel/tire and air that up to 32psi, then put it under a seat or something.

You cannot just put the TPMS sensors in the spare or a container pressured to 32 psi. The sensors activate with centrifugal motion of a moving wheel to preserve battery life. No spinning wheel, no sensor activation. A buddy of mine tried this with his RX8 TPMS sensors and figure this out the hard way after going to the trouble of making a sealed PVC pipe and installing all 4 sensors in it.

hmm it works with toyota's i guess its a diffferent system...personally i would just buy the sensors but i don't like doing things half assed

Toyota/Lexus uses Pacific TPMS. These sensors transmit pressure info intermittently and are not triggered but tire rotation. Apparently 1st gen TPMS in Mercedes (made by Seimens) are the same. All the other Japanese (including Mazda) and domestic manufacturers use Schrader TPMS. This system is a triggered system. That's why installing the sensors in a pressured pipe or container will work for Toyotas but not Mazdas.

The RX8 Sensors are siemens?

Okay, I am bringing this one back from the dead. I am fed up with the TPM system. Everytime it dips below 50 degrees it triggers the warning light. I have checked my tires, there are no leaks. I have had the TPMS checked out, and there is no problems with it. I am going to try to figure out how to beat this worthless system. I do not need a system to tell me I have a low tire. I check my tires weekly. With this being said, where is the brain to this system located? I am going to either disable it or remove it. Either way, I will get rid of it once an for all.

well, if your TPMS light is coming on every time it drops below 50F, it probably means that you need to add more air, because your tire pressure takes a severe hit as it gets cold out. i believe the stock threshold for the TPMS is 27psi, so you're going to need a lot more air in your tires.

If you have your pressure set at least 35 PSI, low temps are not going to drop it 8 PSI. Your tires are too low to begin with.
