Speed3 TWM SS Installed

I want to thank TWM Performance for putting out a great product. I received my Speed3 short shifter, bushings and weighted knob yesterday. Tonight I installed the parts with the help of my four year old

I initially laughed when I opened the box of goodies because in it, TWM shipped me four paper clips. These are used in a critical step to help hold some tabs then remove the shifter and its housing. I laughed because I really didn't think a company would pay close attention to detail and provide a general item such as a paper clip, let alone four.

The instructions were very good. My only modification is the fact that my Speed3 has NAV. The extra steps are to remove the clip that attach's to the NAV controller on the shifter plate and then remove the clip that attach's to the main console.

I was slower than the estimated hour for installation but that was due, in part, to my helper and that I wanted to make sure I understood each part coming off and going on.

Once again; great product, instructions and the initial test drive was simply sick!

can you give some feedback on how it feels and the differences between it and the stock shifter while driving? what about bangin gears?

lol @ paperclips, but when I put a SS on my Audi TT, they sent a bent nail to align the shifter.

Yes sir, reverse lock still feels the same, you just dont have to push that far down anymore ... lol ... tested out the shifter and had to double check to see if it shifted into 1st, 3rd and 5th, shifter throw is REALLY short now, didnt seem as if it was in gear lol ... anyways everything feels great :D

yea dont worry, i know how you feel, i felt the same way ... lol ... but daaaaaaaamn all the way in Hawaii !!!

Just curious, how does the height difference affect the ergonomics?

Does it feel uncomfortable now, having to reach a bit lower?

Unless the arm rest was lowered the same amount as the shifter, it would seem to not be a good match.

My arm is close to level when on the arm rest.

Do any of you who got the shifter want to part with the stock one? I am willing to pay a reasonable amount for one. Shoot me a PM.

Wow, the shifter is not available seperate from the factory it comes with the base and MSRP is 268.75 BR5V-46-100A
