Need help diagnosing problem

Hey guys, lately I have been noticing a thud as I take off in 1st gear from a stand and sometimes when in heavy traffic when in 1st or second gear when I accel then lift my foot off the gas. It is not very loud or violent, but I can feel it in the stearing wheel and it is not happening at every take off or even in all gears.

My initial thought was that something in the suspension is causing it as a change in momentum seems to set it off and the fact that I can feel it in the wheel.

Any thoughts on what it is or anyone experience a similar problem?

i'm sorry to be the messenger of bad news..but your rear diffs mounts are probably loose. if not broken/sheared off. and driving it anymore will crack the rear differential front case.

try disconnecting the little black box under the drivers side dash, and see if that stops the noise. then leave it disconnected until you are able to get it into the dealership.

Is this something you have experienced? I will be sure to mention it when I bring it in for service.

i absolutely have experienced that ;), but really i recommend you disconnect that black box. that will make your car FWD, and stop any further damage from happening.

but if disconnecting that black box does not stop the noise, then i think you have a different problem.

from the discription you gave though..i would say i'm 99.7658% positive thats the problem.

NOTE TO CP-E: please hurry with the diff mount upgrades!! its more important than your standback's pnp release!!! if the mounts break stock this easy, no one needs more power until the mounts are upgraded.
