yeah, i understand what you mean. to me though, i've NEVER seen a paint job as good as factory. i've noticed about 3 flaws total on my car. my last car, i had painted by 4 different shops, including "the best one in town". started with just the bumper, and when it was all said and done, it was the bumper, hood and fenders. all i could see was cloudy, bubbled, bad work. every one of my friends that has gotten a paint job its the same way, bad. every custom paint job i've seen, there are WAY more flaws than an OEM paint job. and the way they explain they shittiness is this: "there's no such thing as a perfect paint job" well, my car didn't come with these flaws from the factory... "there's nothing that we can't fix" and it goes to the shop again and comes back worse, with swirl marks all over my entire car. i'm much more worried about body work than i am engine work. if i'm a moron because of that, so be it. i'm not bashing you for your reasoning with your warranty issues, it sucks man. its just not like that with me. the only reason i'd be worrying is because i don't want the dealer to work on my car because they're careless and like to scratch and dent s***. sorry if i made you feel like your problem wasn't important, thats not what i intended.

I would be pretty pissed if I got a paint job and it looked worse than it went in as, and also dealers are very careless, like most mechanics I see them laying on the ground or wiping oil on their clothes and then hop in the car to move it or turn it on, Ive striaght out yelled at people for doing that. What it comes down to is that noone seems to care about your own car more than yourself and its sad when people are getting paid to....
I basically dont wont either engine or body to be touched, but if so I would rather it be the body than the engine..

understood man. you should have a mechanic of your own look at everything in the car and make sure everything checks out. if you feel like some other parts in your motor are in jeopardy of falling apart, have them fix the parts the mechanic points out.

Well I got my wreck back today to be GREATLY dissappointed. I was called today and was told my car was finally ready for pick up. I show up and ask to go look at the car. First thing I asked was about my intake and bov and they had no idea of what I was talking about, I show them clearly the damage that was done and they told me they didnt see that, and that they wouldnt replace it anyways. I was very worried that something a blind person could see was missed. Then I start poking around some more to find a ******* pool the size of my hand under the car that was Transmission fluid, my words exactly were """What the **** is this??? Your kidding me right??"""" they tried to tell me it was degreaser and I said I know what the hell tranny fluid smells and feels like. I walked away from the car and they said they would put it on the lift, so after storming in to talk tell the service manager I went back and checked the car out. It was a larger bolt that goes into the tranny that was all bashed up and it was leaking. He tightend it and said it should hold, I looked at them and said I want a new ******* bolt in there and they said that wouldnt be a problem. After arguing that I dont want to even take the car home for about 3 hours I took it for a test drive.
The mech was cool with me and told me straight up he would be pissed too, and also that he was only aloud to check what they told him to. All that was replaced was the driver side axle and all 4 mounts.
Its now about day 25 that my car has been serviced within the past 9 months. I found a couple other parts later this evening that I know for certain should be replaced but Im going to let them know one at a time to keep adding up the days. Next monday they are going to replace the bolt that is leaking, and then so on after that, Im not saying what else is broken until I take it into the dealer for it, because a couple people at my dealer are aware of this forum. Long story short though once day 30 hits I get a new car.
All this comes down to is my dealer is a peice of s***, the service manager treated me with no respect and told everone else that I am friends with there that they were not allowed to talk to me, which I was told to by a couple of them in secret. Its like a big ****** conspiracy against me at my dealer now.
Oh and there was a speed6 there with a blown engine, He had a "bov" like the one in my car and a service person suggested I take mine off because his warranty was just voided from aftermarket parts. You have to be a god damn idiot to think a bov would make the piston smack the spark plugs and explode, he was obviously boosting the car too much. There wasnt anything aftermarket in the car when it was sitting there he took it all off.
I was threatened by the service manager b**** that my warranty will be voided if I continue to chase mazda to pay for my parts. And also theres a 3 inch scratch on one of my rims. I asked wtf and OF COURSE "it was like that when I brought it in." I looked at her and said so Im sure you looked at each wheel after I dropped it off.
Im down to the point where I really dont give a s*** about my car, its so trashed, thing is though I still have 3 months to get it serviced 5 more times. And I already have 1 appointment scheduled leaving 4, and then the other broken parts will be 3 and then 2 left so it looks like I wont be having my car too much longer.
Im not sure if Im going to get another MS3, I love the car to death, Ill just make sure I dont buy it from my dealer. If I dont get that then most likely an Evo, Im an old mitsu guy any way so I might just be better off...
The kicker of it all was I got a recall letter in the mail today for engine mount #4, day I get the car is the day I get the recall letter......I also got my autoexe front today and it looks nice. Look to my other threads for details

No need to excuse yourself, the dealer is being an ass. I would have left the car there, if it still needs work then I would have left it there in fear of doing any more damage if the broken bolt falls out. Next monday would be another 6 days that would be over your 30 days. Next time you are there leave it until it's done and as they get ready to give it back tell them about the other faults it has.

I didn't read the whole thread, but it sure sounds familiar. An exception is that my dealer was a lot nicer about it all, and had repairs done in about 24 hours.

Don't base your decision on the events of a few. You'll miss out on a lot of great things that way. If you get scared off that easily, maybe the car wasn't for you.
You're probably right...the car maybe wasn't meant for me. But damn I've seen about 8 cars go to the dealer (not including the forum) to have their engines fall out...recall anyone? And they were looking for reasons not to fix the problem. But we'll see...(enguard)
I didn't wait for the recall letter. As soon as I saw it posted here 3July07 I called my dealer and set up an apt. It was taken care of last week. I just got my recall notice yesterday.
If you have solid Mazda support on the dealer side in your area, I don't see a problem. I've had a few bumps in the road with my Speed3 but my dealer has made those issues very tolerable and has gotten me in and out very quickly. Other than that, the car is a blast to drive, and I haven't second guessed my purchase once.

I can only hope you we as nice when speaking with them. I have no doubt there are bad dealers out there. I also have no doubt that some of the bad dealer experiences are totally precipitated by the customer.

wow. I see that you are completely wrong. mazda dealers, customer service, mechanics, managers are all a peace of s*** in general. have friends in different states than florida where i live, they all had the same problems and feel the same way.. MAZDA SUCKS FAT DICK, when it comes to customer support, service and warranties.. don't get me wrong i love my MSP even though gave me millions of problems... but now that is in good shape will never change it for any other car no matter make and model..

I only become an asshole as a last resort because being a dick from the get go will get you no where. I have no issue with making the demands that will make me happy but I do it in a more tactful way.
