My ENGINE FELL OUT!!! Im NOT JOKING, This #UCKIN SUCKS!!!!!

Search for it numb nuts its on this forum and he did a write up of a bolt test for shear strength.

Dumb ass comments that hold no weight are what start rumors and stupid people saying they heard something about bad bolts ect. Its not the bolt its the bolt becoming loose then the vibration and shear forces snap it as would happen with any bolt if loose on a motor.

$20-30 will get you a good enough floor jack, you don't need a lift ( BTW I used the stock car jack and it worked like a charm). And jackstands are cheap. The torque wrench might run you $40 or more but for that price, it's worth the peace of mind it brings. If the bolt is tight at 75 ft/lbs or so you don't need to do anything but check it in a couple months. If it's still tight then it's fine.

Sad thing is I have 2 hydraulic jacks (2 1/2ton, 3 1/4ton), 1 crank floor jack (5ton) and countless scissor jacks, and 3 but I can only find 2 jack stands. I also have a nice Torque wrench and the mechanical know how to do everything needed...... Problem is I only do things when I feel like it. I would much rather put my boost gauge in, put my intake in, figure out everything needed for my fmic, blah blah blah, or work on a car that does need repairs (my saturn) what Im trying to say is I was a lazy ass about something I shouldnt have been....

The thing I wonder most IS if I would have tried to torque it down and for say the socket slipped and left it SLIGHTLY stripped, and NOW this still happend, what would my dealer say if they saw that I was Tampering with the mount that so happend to fail?

Take that to the bank because honestly whos to say they wouldnt try to start some s*** over that......

How the hell can they have not given you a rental by now let alone that monday when it opened up?

I think you need to start being in there and a bit more stern with them.

Well since I wasnt in the best mood on monday when I went in there and told them not to touch my car until I consulted with my attorney. I stopped back in yesterday with the go ahead because I basically couldnt do s***. I possibly could but it would have been a pain in the A$$. I went in right before they closed, they checked the car out today and I didnt find out until 4 that they could get me the rental whenever I want. Thing is I was still working and couldnt make it up there by 6 to pick it up. So they offered me a rental now and I can get it whenever I feel. A Mazda Rep is coming to look at the car tomorrow or friday. I did my brakeline on my saturn though so honestly Im in no need of a rental, I would mostly get it just for Mazda to pay for it (upyours) and then it might make them think they need to finish my car faster since Im costing them money. (upyours) Not sure if that works though???.... (bike)

I hear yah but....

You'd have to be superman to strip that bolt easily....it's pretty hefty. Anyway right now that's all water under the bridge in your case. Hopefully you'll get your car back soon.

Here's a link to a NHTS document that lists the principal investigator as Stephen McHenry:
http://nhthqnwws111.odi.nhtsa.dot.g...ublic/Pursuits/2007/PE/INOA-PE07015-61690.pdf

Here's another link to the NHTSA letter to Mazda informing them of the investigation and requesting info:
http://nhthqnwws111.odi.nhtsa.dot.g...blic/Pursuits/2007/PE/INIM-PE07015-25413p.pdf

Both are from March 2007. If this has happened to your car, it might be worth writing directly to McHenry. I'm thinking Mazda may not provide info on every case of broken bolts and it might be interesting for the NHTSA to receive information from drivers otherwise not supplied by Mazda.

You could also write to David Robertson of Mazda at the address on the letter to Mazda requesting info and voicing your displeasure.

You're probably right though I do not have a spec sheet for superman strength! I imagine it all changes though when something comes just a little loose and the vibrations go at it like a jackhammer. Just like front end parts wear super fast as soon as they get loose. hehe I said super again. Best wishes I hope it gets resolved. Get the rental car and Baja it! (burnout)

No I didnt mean to strip the bolt out, that probably wouldnt be too easy lol, I meant if there were any marks from me tightening it, if they would say anything.... Either way Their waiting for a Mazda Rep to come look at the car and then they can keep moving on it.... Or start moving on it.....?

me>(smash)<MAZDA this is how I feel Im being treated...
