Are our cars targets???

I was driving down a left turn lane when a woman (who was in the 'straight only' lane) decided she wanted to turn into the gas station on her left. She didn't see me when she decided to drive across my lane to get to the gas station and she hit the passenger side of my car. I didn't describe that very well, but it's been a long day. The important thing is that her Jeep did some damage.

Thank goodness no one was hurt, but this is the first wreck for me, and the first wreck for my Protege 5. Sad day...at least it's not bad enough to total it.

Thank goodness I have a body shop in the extended family. I'll definitely keep y'all posted on the repairs.

Yes it is classic red. It's either my camera that's making it look different, or the fact that it's very overcast today so the lighting is odd.

That really sucks. I remember looking at your car and thinking how sweet it looks. With my past luck with cars, someone always manages to hit my car each winter, when I'm not in it and it's parked somewhere. Every winter for the last 5 years, it's happened.

I just got this P5, and I pray it doesn't happen this year.

the classic red is just a BIG bullseye for others to hit. i have had the worst luck with my car. in over a year and a half ive gotten into four accidents. best of luck with the repairs

That shouldn't be too bad of a repair. Two new doorskins, maybe the handle. It looks like she got the rear fender? That's a bit harder to fix, depending on how bad it is. Any damage to the front fender, or side skirt?

Make sure they don't clear coat when they re-spray. My understanding is that like on the Miatas, the Classic Red cars aren't clear coated, and you wouldn't want two doors that fade, etc. at a different rate than the rest of the car!

If I remember correctly, the place on the fender is just paint residue. I don't think it's dented at all.

I would love to get the whole car repainted!!! I know my mom had a red Grand Prix years ago and the hood was never the same color as the rest of the car after she had to get it repainted.

No he hasn't, as a matter of fact. Get him on that. haha. I could put it towards a paint job, although I don't think it would go very far....
