I am replacing the lower control arms on my 2000 protege es because the bushings were toast and as I am doing so I noticed the ball joint doesn't fit correctly. I got the Dorman parts (520-883 and 520-884). I measure the little concave part of the ball joint that the bolt is supposed to keep in place, but the dorman ball joint is 10mm wide and the stock part is 7mm wide. This causes the ball joint to move a few mm's! that ain't right, right?? Anyone else have these issues?? Dorman is closed for the weekend so I would have to wait till monday to b!tch at them.
