I'm deleting my MSP wing and am looking to stay factory with a 3rd brake light. If you have a interior 3rd brake light assembly (black) that you would like to trade for the MSP filler panel (and/or + cash) send over a pm. At this time I have a buyer lined up for the wing.

in my opinion the standard protege 3rd brake light is pretty fugly. right now im working on a project of putting a long LED brake light in the back as my 3rd brake light. sort of like the jetta gli's have.

I agree, I had one in my LX (it was brown ... made it even worse). At least I'm going to hide this one behind tint. I toyed with mounting a flush LED strip in the trunk above or in place of the flying M. At that point however, I'd be spending more money to delete my wing than just purchasing your trunk (laugh) . I'm still looking for a stocker for now ... gimme a "heads -up" when you come up with a cool solution.

gonna keep bumpin' 'till I can't bump no more ... or break down and call a wrecker ... or hear from Ken.

Not only that, but they rattle like a b**** when you turn up the music. Mine bangs against the back window.

FYI- There are no black 3rd brake lights, only tan and gray. You'll have to paint it black.

The ES one wasn't black? They have the same interior as the P5/MP3/MSP so I figured it would be charcoal/black.

Yeah ... it's more charcoal(ish) than black . As long as it's not tan, it's what I'm lookin' for. You can see the color of the rear deck through the window in my sig.

Do you legally have to have a 3rd brake light, or is it just manufacturers were required to have one? I may be willing to part with my tan one if not.
