Will the vibration from the aftermarket motor mount quiet down?

I wish someone would just develop a quality damper to limit movement of the engine, or at least stabilize it a little more. I have AWR mounts that I refused to install because the same mounts shook the s*** out of my brother's protege. I can't stand any shaking above stock and have just decided to live with the sloppy mounts.
 
I have the AWR front and sides in my ride, it took a while but the squeek and weird stiffness "broke in" after a month or two. They make a load of a difference in the way the car handles in the front. I recommend them highly and then when you want to install them, i have a thread on here that is a pretty good how-to. Check it out

You might want to look into a damper such as the Weapon-R engine damper. I haven't heard anything about this, so I dont know if its a good product or not. It's another option to look into if you don't want to go the motor mount option.

HAHA...thanks, but I actually highlighted QUALITY in my original statement because the Weapon R is garbage from what I've read. But, something more along the line of a damper is what I'd prefer.

well weapon-R is the only one that im aware of on the market for out cars.
 
How is engine mounting done on other cars? How come they don't have broken mounts, excessive movement, or vibration?

And most importantly, why is there no mount for our car that is strong enough not to break, AND adds no additional vibration over stock?
 
My roommate was talking s*** like if it was Honda they wouldnt let the car rolls into the market but Mazda just find some rubber mount to counter its rough engine...
I do admire Honda's engine and their quality but I know Mazda has something others don't have...compare to the fun I got out from my P5 it isn't a big deal. :D
Oh, btw even my mechanic, really experienced, doesn't know that motor mount can be part of "maintenance"...

Also I just placed the order from onlinemazdaparts.com and surprisingly the passenger side mount costs ~$130...the rear and driver side, trans mount, cost ~$65....I wonder why the passenger side mount is so expensive...

I have RR-racing front and rear and they broke in a lot. When it's warm out, they feel fine--very faint vibes.

When it's below freezing, I can feel the vibes quite a bit more, but it's not annoying. It's nothing like when they were new. The only drawback I notice is that the rad fans rattle at idle. (hahaspit)
 
I used to like the vibrations in my car, now I hate them. Too many things rattle that are practically impossible to stop.
 
I think the benefit of the RR-racing inserts is that they allow for more of that polyurethane material to be in the mount, whereas the AWR mounts have less material than stock.

So when the RR-racing break in, they get considerably softer, because there is more material surrounding the point of attachment of the motor to the mount. Does that make sense?

The AWR is much like bolting your engine to the frame.

PS: having paid attention today, I barely have any vibes... just a little at takeoff.
 
AWR sides should be coming in soon.

Only going to do the passenger first to feel the vibes then the drivers side later.

When I went from the OEM front mount, which was completely detached from the rubber, to the AWR front...i had less vibrations :)
 
Ha...I have decided to pussy out and go back to OEM except the one in the front...
This is getting too much trouble...I think I will worry about it after 50k...

Does anyone know how long should the OEM mount be replaced?

It depends on your driving. Mine were never torn, I replaced them just because I could. Just to do it. Just to say my car is modified.
 
I heard on here somewhere that the OEM rear mount for the diesel is firmer than the MT stock one. Not sure where to get one or how much they run? Was diesel engine option like European only? I'm just thinking it might be a good compromise.
