Why the complaints?

This is my second Central NY winter with OEM tires on my 2010 mz5 and I am having no problems. Sometimes the stability control and traction kicks in, but not too often. I have 15000 and rotate the toyos every 5000. Maybe that's the key?

Well the cars that came with Toyo A18 Proxies had issaues. I'm in the Toronto area and I can tell you in the snow and cold, they were useless. you NEED proper winter tires, as to the traction and stability control...the Mz5 doesnt have that anyway ( at least in the earlier years) I have the GT and dont have those, so that may be masking how bad the OEM tires are. The other issue was that they wear out very quickly. mine wore out at 108000km spilt between winter and summer tires. my new summer tires are closing in on the same distance wil only half the wear. I'm still on the original winter tires!

Toyos are garbage in general man. Taking those hideous POS tires off my new car with 95 miles on it was the smartest thing I ever did. I hated the car with the Toyos. Love it with the Michelins.

My buddy just got rid of the OEM Toyos on his '09 Highlander Hybrid and put the Yokohamas that I advised him to get. He's thrilled. He said he never realized how bad the tires were, even though I told him every time I endured riding in it.

My toyos were ok as well.... till about 25000 miles. then, they were loud and jerky and over worn for their age. crappy tires.
