Who here actually blows through the MAF??

They could make us pre-calibrated MAFs (or re-calibrate our stock ones) for blow through or non blow through, NA, that would allow larger injectors, etc. MAFs are relatively simple, and they are the experts.

It's a subject that required one page...
I demand more pages.

I know this is a good thing to do if you are running a BOV.

I am only using a BPV, but I'm experienceing stalling issues, do you guys think MAF relocation would help my situation, or be of any benefit?

it's rare on this forum to have ANY thread go 9 pages without flaming. I think it should stay as a shining example of goodness!!

Holy crap what do you know... its another post. Lets make this 10 pages. I have a few questions.
Someone mentioned recirculating air before the MAF is bad. Why?
If I moved my MAF after my BOV on the IC -> TB pipe, could I still recirc from the turbo -> IC pipe back into the intake? Would there be benefit to doing this? I know you don't need to recirculate if your MAF is after the BOV (thus curing stalling issues), but would recirculating some anyway reduce lag and response time?

Ok next Q: I have the HiBoost FMIC. The BOV flange is maybe 12" away from the TB. If I put the MAF between the BOV and the TB... it would be close to both of them. In most setups I see, the MAF is close to the TB... but the BOV is on the hot pipe. Do you think having my BOV close to the MAF would cause issues?

Thanks everbody. BTW I think this is a good thread and full of good info. If I do this setup I will post my results to add info for people.

Please don't make me start a whole new thread. I am getting DSM's AFC and want to change my setup prior. Please help!!! See attached picture for description of proposed setup.

DSM AFC is not that good for the proteges

Why not? Have you installed one and used it before? What problems have people had with it? Hey if it works it works. I just want more control, not an AEM.

So there is no problem recirc'ing before the MAF?

Since you put the MAF between the BOV and the TB and thus no need for recirculation. What's the BPV for?

Okay not sure why. But what it seems like to me, your just basically running 2 BOV's where one vents to atmosphere and one recirculates, am I correct or am I still missing something. I am in the process of learning about turbo charging, so am just trying to get a handle on different setups and their pros and cons.

Performance. I think recircing some air is good for low boost applications. Keep it in the system.
