What have you done to your Miata today?

I've never seen a car do that, but the first thing that comes to mind is plugs, wires and coils. How many miles does it have?

some electronics\electrical might act up in those cold temps, how many miles on the car?
I can tell you it is the tune. My car does the same thing when it is cold out. Once it warms up, the car starts and like normal. I just had the plugs/wires replaced last year (about 5k on them). You also have to note that I have a Hydra tune and no MAF for cooler weather.....

mmm... I'm not even sure I want to reach the little enchilada level, especially with the issues I had with my MS3 after the downpipe

I'm not familiar with the ECU, but sounds like you need to do some logging when that happens and modify the tune
Bolded for the key phrase. The MS3 and MS6 motors are reaaallllllyyyyyy finicky and touchy to mods. You do know I have a MS6 and their motors are identical, right?

yeah, I don't know what mods you've got on it though. I had every single CP-E mod available except the flash, plus a DNP mani with external waste gate. Fez has that and a bigger turbo with the stock wastegate plus a tune, it hasn't blown up but he can't drive it, can't figure out what's wrong with it. I know the BP engine is very strong so that keeps me thinking, I've thought about the BEGi flash instead of the Hydra but I want a roll cage and moar seat time before I add moar powar
