so im cleaning out my interior today and i notice this little flap underneath the passenger seat, i stick my hand in and immediately notice immediately what feels like a wet sponge. apparently the insulation is soaking wet, mostly around the front passenger footwell, but extending just behind the front seat. i really have no idea how this happened, but i pulled out all the insulation, at this point it was more like a blog of gooey nasty looking stuff. luckily it doesn't smell like much of anything, perhaps a bit damp, but i drive other peoples cars for a living and its nothing compared to some of the rancid rotten food smelling cars i have driven.
id like to replace this insulation, but i have no idea what type of stuff i should buy to replace it. also has anyone done a how to take apart your interior to get under the carpet? i was able to easily get the door sills off, but i dont really have time to mess with it tonight so i had to put them back on, those little clips that hold the wires running down the side of the floorboard look pretty flimsy so i dont really want to try taking anything else apart until i know what im getting myself into.
