Want to drive a stick - No way of learning how

My sales rep took me out back and spent an hour with me. If they want to sell you the car, they will do the same.

Damn, good sales rep.

Mine realized I knew more about the car than he did, handed me the keys, and said, "go have some fun."

My parents had the dealer teach before buying an MX-5.

f-it... just go to the dealership and get in the manual with the sales men and tell him this is the one you want then start to try and drive it... after all the bucking and squealling he will be pissin his pants... it would be classic...!!!

or tell them you will only by a stick but you need to learn first... i bet you they will teach you on some pos loaner or something they have out back just to get the sale... you will be surprised what a dealership will do to get a sale.... i know i wouldn't hesitate to teach some one to drive a stick if it meant a new sale!!

Usually they'll be willing to spend a bit of time to teach you the basics in order to get going (if you're nice and didn't squeeze them for everything when dealing on the price).

Just walk in and say...I want a 5-spd...I'll buy one from your dealership if you teach me how to drive it. Sales reps would jump at such an easy sale.

I was 17 and mostly learned test driving cars. LOLage.
Didn't drive an M3 though.

you could always try to get a stick rental car for a day and learn. it isnt hard. it took me about 30 minutes to learn.

its actually not that hard at all I learned on a subaru sti and a mitsu 3000gt...they'res a little difference, you just have to kinda start off slow until you get the feel of the clutch and when it actually engages. Its not that bad go to a big parking lot putting it in first i think is the hardest part.

I don't think you should learn to drive stick on a car with an MSRP of $47,300 & 333 horsepower, but maybe that's just me. (uhm)

M3's are sweettttt......
