hey did any of you guys go out and get an underbody coat? my areas going thru a lot of construction so i was just thinkin about that this morning... i believe msp comes w/ one..?

I got the under coating as part of the purchase (my dealership did it for free) along with the Scotch Gard for the interior, the paint sealent (guy said they put 2 coats on) and the rust proofing from the inside. But I asked for all this stuff, and got it all for free, but if you don't have it done then get it done for sure!

Most underbody coatings are a b****. Sure they'll cut down on road noise and such, but they'll also make your car more difficult to work on. The underbody coating the my best friend had installed on his 2.5RS back in Michigan worked great until it came time to install his exhaust and sway bars. The stuff they used was the same stuff that was used on government vehicles like mail trucks and such. The whole underbody of the car had a rubbery thick black coating which worked awesome against rocks, road salt and hell.....even our tools. We ended up having to use acetone and a rag to melt most of it off of the bolts we needed to unscrew. I know they different shops use different stuff under their, but steer clear of it if you plan on changing stuff like suspension components and even a simple exhaust mod was a hassle.

I had mine done and lucky for me they only put it where it was needed. Very nice and neat job.
