how do i install a turbotimer to my msp...are they all the same like instaallation wise?? whats the best turbotimer to get and do i need a specific harness
I just installed mine using the link I posted above and it works fine, only problem is you can't set the alarm or lock the car with the keys while it's running, but once it shuts off you can so it's no big deal.
so you have to stay near the car so you can arm the alarm once the car is off?
might as well just sit in the car to let it cool down instead of using a TT
Correct you can lock it but not set the alarm until it shuts off. Yeah it's not really worth it but it was 25 bucks so w/e. Usually by the time it shuts off im walking away anyway and lock it then.
I figured out how to arm the alarm while the car is running, Thanks to boomergt.
Pull out the clips on the rear deck after folding the rear seatbacks down and pull up on the bottom of the deck. Underneath is a white box for the keyless entry. Unplug the harness and cut the blue/white striped wire. Plug harness back and and reinstall clips and test it, it should work fine.
I cut the blue/white wire... but that only allow you to lock the doors but does not arm the alarm. Is there any way to arm the alarm while the turbo timer is on?
with mine (i have greddy) i can lock and set alarm while the car is running, i have no idea how its installed though since it was installed by the original owner. just some food for thought
I think you have to cut the orange wire on the alarm module under the dash for to arm the alarm. I have only cut the blue/white wire behind the seats so it will lock while running but not arm the alarm.
