Hey 1stMP3, I got the install sceduled for this Thursday the 16th. I got a chance to talk to my installer about all the things I wanted to do.
For example about mounting the amps under the seat, he suggested putting the wood under the carpet to help secure it. As far as the box I'm still now sure how I'm going to secure it yet.
Now as you know the amps will be under the seats- using the C.A.P 5 as the distribution. My installer expressed concern regarding running wires from under one seat to another. He said there's a chance of picking up line noise running that low of guage wire like that. Is this true? He suggested doing an amp rack with everything on it...which would be great but the whole purpose of my install is not to lose the versitility of my hatchback. When I need to transport something I dont want to have to disconnect power wires...etc, from amps in the trunk to remove them. I'd rather only have the box there and bannana clips so I can simply unplug and lift out box when I want my trunk back for any particular reason.
About the doors. He said he'll try and mount the cross-overs outside the vapor barrier but if not they'll bag the cross-overs up tie them and use silicone. Ever hear of them doing it that way?!
Also about the vapor barrier, he said it's almost impossible to salvage it after it's removed. He said he'd plug the holes with dynamat. Is this sufficient?
