Had a respectable machine shop forged my engine, Been throwing a p0301 and a intermittent p0325.
Has a noticeable miss, swapped injectors new coils, plugs, wires, pressure tested intake, compression is a solid 170-172 across the board.
So i started thinking possible timing, this is where it gets a little iffy to me.
pulled the valve cover off, lined up the cam grooves (i and e) look at the crank and the yellow dot in the middle of the pulley is far off to the right of the plastic timing cover. And when the Yellow dot is even with the "T" on the plastic cover, the Intake cam groove is where its supposed to be(level and even with the top of the head, but the Exhaust cam is what seems to be one notch behind, and not even with the intake cam.
Question is, when the yellow dot in the middle of the crank pulley is lined up with the "T" on the plastic timing cover, is that TDC? or the same as the v cut on the crank?
I know to put it in time, you go by the V cut on the shaft under the pulley.
But i was having problems getting the crank pulley bolt out, so i quit for the day. just looking for a little info that would make tomorrow go smoother.
