I am so pissed. I have been without my Mazda for about 3 weeks now, and I was supposed to have it back last friday, but the place parts place forgot to ship my anti-sway bar link, so they expected me to have it on saturday or monday. NOPE. I called them on monday, and the replacement tire the parts place sent won't fit on my new Motegi's and according to all the tire places, the Dunlops I have are incredibly difficult to find. So, I have three good tires, and one tire that is a size too small. So now, I have to wait 'till wednesday until I can have my maybe back. I mean damn, 3 weeks is a long time to be without a car, and not to mention that the rental is due back tuesday night. Oh well, I guess I can get an extension. Anyway, I am so pissed...:wtf:

thanks for the condolences...I am still pretty pissed, but hopefully I'll get over it...

that sux man, hopefully your baby will be back soon.

Btw I'm staying in F'burg watching the dogs this week, if you want to get dinner or something tonight. Just hit me up later if you want to.

What tires do you have that are so hard to find?

He said Dunlops in his first post. So it's either the OEM tires or the SP9000's or whatever they are.

I'm going to assume it's stock tires because there is about a 3 week waiting list on them from what I've heard from diffrent places. My mazda dealer said it once took them 3 MONTHS to get one.

Yeah a 195/50/16 isn't the easiest tire in the world to locate. It's just not a common size.

KYREDP5 and REMillers are both right. I am running stock rubber, the Dunlop SP9000's that came with the car. It is a pretty good tire, and I don't quite understand why they are so hard to find. Not a single auto shop or tire dealer can explain to me why these damn things are so rare, and if they are as good as they seem to be, why they don't make more of them. Oh well.

I'm sure tirerack.com does have it, but it's all about how quickly I can get it. Right now, my family is one car short of the usual three. We had to turn the rental back in, I think. So at this point, it's all about how fast I can get the damn thing.

If they have it you can have it overnighted to you, UPS RED the bastard.

However i don't think Dunlop makes the SP9000 in that size anymore, only the SP Sport FM901 and SP Sport 5000 M.

Last I saw tirereack had them in stock, but iirc, one of our members ordered while it was "in stock" and it still took forever. I haven't heard of anyone getting a tire for their P5 in under a week.

I even looked at dunlops website and if you put in for a tire for the PRotege 5 you do not get the 9000 as an option. Mybe they are Mazda OEM only now!

Did the mazda dealer see if they could get them?

If you do a search by size the tire rack does not list the 9000 for that size at all.

All of you are right....

Yeah, everyone is right about the tire thingie....it is actually a Dunlop SP Sport 5000 M, not an SP 9000. My bad. Regardless, it's Friday, and I still don't have car.
