Things that freak me out

i have had the speed modded for a couple months now, and there are things that bother me sometimes. Since i have upped the boost, i noticed the normal hasitation has pretty much gone away(still a little present at WOT) but one thing that bothers me is sometimes in second and third, while accelerating with the pedal about 1/2 to 2/3 depressed, i notice that if i keep the pedal at an exact postion(instead of progressively pushing further) there are times when it just starts to stumble like crazy. Just like lurching forward and back. This usually comes on right at the point where the boost stops increasing for the given amount of throttle, and starts returning to vacuum. Is this just a more pronounced stumble since theres more psi, or is the MSP trying to commit vehicular strangulation?:wtf:

Another thing i have noticed, is that on comfortable nights, (60-70) when it is kind of humid, sometimes my car wil drop down to like 400-500 rpms while idleing. Just as it does that then it catches itself and comes back. This freaks me out. (blowup)

any thoughts ?

The idelign problem is fine don't worry about that. The other thing I am not so sure about, jsut wait for mmore people to respond.

oh yeah...*that* stumble. Scary as all s*** the first time it happened, right? Yeah...I have it but I'm not sure why it's there...it's not always present...usually on humid/rainy days. ICK!

Same thing happened to me with the stumbling, usually in 4th or 5th gear. Since my short-ram intake & Joe's FPR mod it doesn't happen anymore.

yeah i would really like to get the kit, but thats only if i knew mazda wasnt going to come out with the ecu fix. with my luck i would install it and when i came back to the computer there would be a thread saying"Mazda does love us, ECU flash done!!"

awsome
maybe joe will be getting a new order here soon,
also, anyone with a a/f running high boost(10-11psi) with the FPR?
is it still within a safe fuel ratio?
thanks

CRESCENT FRESH!!! Duuuuude, I love Sifl & Olly! :D

(Sorry, I have nothing helpful to contribute to this thread :p )

Joe was running w/ both kits on his car at up to 22 psi...so I think you'll be just fine. :D

Besides, ~10 psi (but not higher) is fine for daily driving. Just get some colder plugs, too...there are threads on here about those. Cheap piece of mind for higher boost.

Joe said that the FPR is good with stock a/f ratio up to 10-11 psi max. You really dont want to boost higher than that without being an expert (like Joe). ENGINE GO BOOM!!!!!

yes i already have the colder plugs and whatnot
bkr7e or something to that effect, and have been running them for awhile with no problems

sifl and olly are the most cres fellas out there, besides zappo
still waiting for third season dvd to get here
"tangerine, hop inside my big ass lincoln
tangerine, eatin lobster with my bitches"

now that i have jacked my own thread..........

hold on guys....is that the FP or the "fuel cut"? I thought I had read on here about boosting your pressure up gives you fuel cut for a split second and it has the same effects as what is described here. If that's the case, Joe's got a fix for that as well

i dont think its the fuel cut because i can make it happen whenever i want. And it doesnt necessarily hapen at or near full boos. It happens when i hold the pedal at one certain level the whole way, instead of progressivley openeing the throttle more. Once the boost has peaked for the amount of throttle im giving it and starts to fall off and level out is when the surging happens. I wish there was another person around here who had a boosted MSP that i could compare with. If your around G.I. im moving to the east side of milwaukee next week, so maybe we should meet up if you ever have any free time?
