Theres a banshee under my hood! (bad windshield wash pump)
Seriously, when I turn on the front pump, it SCREAMS like a banshee and does not project fluid. Been like that for over a year (boom02). Previous owner told me he hit a snow embankment at low speed right where the washer reservoir would be and I think this shifted or damaged the front pump. Yes, I have not used my front washer in over a year and a half but do use it when it rains.
Safe to say it is shot. I was hoping it is serviceable but its not unless you can find this specific motor. Also, looks like something inside is broken/leaking resulting in rust. I took off the rear pump and it is clean.
For reference:
I do not recommend the cheap ebay pumps. All reivvews seem to say that suck and dont supply much pressure. An OE pump doesnt cost much more anyway. Both the front and rear pumps appear to be identical but have different part #s. Local dearer wants $43 for the pump and $7 for the seal -WOW I order through http://parts.arlingtonmazda.com/ for $29 (pump+seal) + 9 S/H.
