Suspension Noise

Hi Members,

this past weekend I installed a new suspension that I bought from another member of this Forum. The drop is great but, I do not feel it as stiff as he mentioned and also it makes a squeaking

noise when I go over a bump. I also hear a noise like if one of the shocks was blown but it is actually not. Please help me narrow down places to look at in order to correct the problem.

I'm pretty sure he means the bushings that hold the swaybar to the frame,...

So, it would be item number 2 correct? Can I just lube it up with 3 in 1 lube? Also, the noise is coming from the front of the car, is this the same scenario, does it mean that I would have to lube the same bushings in the front?

The rubber bushing yes,... You're probably better off with grease (although 3 in 1 is probably better than nothing.) Same deal with the front.

Check your ball joints for play while you're under there (the other red circle),... worn ball joints may be the source of your clunk . Use a crow bar or big flat head screwdriver and wedge it between the control arm and steering knuckle and check for movement. Grab a hold of things under there and pull on them to see if they clunk. (like tie rod ends, stabilizer control link, the wheels themselves,...)

Ok, I have grease at home I just hope that it will not liquefy and start doing the same noise all over. Thanks for all the help fellow Mazda Owner!

Does anyone know where I can buy these bushings online? I called the Mazda dealer and because of the weather they seem to be closed.

Check the strut mounts. Due to the fact your ride is dropped, thats more stress on the struts which can make noise if the rubber inside the strut mount is broken (check for even split cracks in the rubber), also take a look at the sway bar bushings. Those are the two noisiest parts. Good luck friend!

Fits the sedan...double check that it's the correct one though for the P5 and that front/rear are interchangeable. I'm assuming it is. $7.82 shipped isn't bad. Maybe make an offer if you buy two or four?

Sedan and p5 use same sway bars but front and rear are different sizes

Good to know. Seller on eBay might be able to sell the rear ones as well then.

Thanks guys, I will definitely check this out. I have never changed the ones in the front and it was making the same noise with the stock struts and strut mounts but, while I am at it I will check the mounts. I have ones changed the rears just for maintenance purposes not because of noise. You guys are very helpful I am glad I joined this forum. Hey while I am at it does any one know what I have to do to get a mazda247 sticker and a Team Pro5 sticker?
