Most dealers are going to ask significantly more. I priced them from several Hosuton dealers and all wanted $220

My dealer asks $395CDN, that's $247US

$220 US is the MSRP from Mazda USA (listed on their website), and that's what I got mine for, from my local dealer. But I got it in 3 days instead of waiting on backorder from mazdastuff.com.

save money and wait, or pay a bit more and get it now, your choice

its incredibly easy....there are only two bolts/nuts and the two rubber hangers that hold it up. ANYONE could do this.

ONE hint for the removal of the stock muffler. Spray some WD-40 or similar product inbetween the rubber hanger and the metal rod that is attached to the muffler...it makes getting them apart a LOT easier.....otherwise they sorta stick together and its a pain.

yup takres about 10 minutes. the only probelm i had was mazdastuff.com forgot to send the exhaust gasket but when i emailed them they ups it next day, hehe they rock. took about 5 minutes to put it in tonight.

It's a perfict fit, it was made for the MP5.

And about the extra Hp, i heard about 3hp, but that could be wrong, i don't know for sure.

I think i feel a difference, but it could be the placebo effect.

Does this muffler droan(SP?) when you are at speed? I am looking for one that makes power, some noise---but it has to be rather silent at speed--55-75mph.

If you want a muffler that has a nice low putt but not too loud, this is the one for you.

Shumax, I've never heard a Mazdaspeed muffler so I can't say what it sounds like. I'd recommend trying to find someone in your area who has one and listen to it before you buy it.

I think muffler sounds are really a matter of personal taste. Badvmc says he likes it just fine and I don't doubt it. But there's a thread on Protegeclub.com named "Exhaust Sound Deadening" where the "Mazdaspeed Sport Exhaust" mufflers are creating some kind of resonance at speed that is driving people absolutely nuts. You won't believe the lengths they've gone to to quiet their exhausts.

i put the sport exhaust on and i like the sound but when u r goin about 80+ itm gets kind of annoying. but u should listen to it before u get it. its ur car so u should get what u like on it
